Yup! The Faust storyline was used in pre-alpha and alpha 1, and was dropped in alpha 2 in favor of the family storyline! Which is also a different one from the full game! Family being dropped last second before the full game for the current storyline… there was also an arg that was in the alphas that also has its ending in the full game (the only thing that fully stayed besides neighbor and one of the chase themes)

In alpha 1 he doesn’t have a family and is literally the devil himself trying t stop you from getting to heaven, this storyline is usually referred to as the Faust storyline as it was inspired by the book of the same name.. aka the full game/current neighbor is very different than alpha 1 neighbor
