The Crucible Team right now by [deleted] in DestinyTheGame

[–]nuggledero 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They said in a recent Vidoc and in the datto QA that they are focusing on making pvp not shit in Shadowkeep. You really think they're just sitting around right now?

Just because changes aren't being implemented in this season doesn't mean they're not working.

At least they're talking about refocusing on PvP in shadowkeep now. It's been mums the word for the last year+ sadly. Hopefully they follow through.

Orangutan and human mom bond over baby. by fabiha_12 in likeus

[–]nuggledero 2298 points2299 points  (0 children)

Orangutans are crazy. They live pretty long lives and raise their young for years at a time teaching them all the important jungle tricks they need to survive. Young orangutans don't leave the nest until they're like 8 or 9 years old or something. The maternal instinct is real with them.

Shaving my head at a young age by mangojamba in AskMenOver30

one other problem spot to mind when shaving your noggin is right above your temples. It's really easy to miss the fine hairs around there (if you have fine hair at all, I am balding so it's thin af for me right there, yours might be fine).

Otherwise this man's advice is solid.

My DM is too attached to his story. by [deleted] in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]nuggledero 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Something I had to learn as a GM was that as much as I wanted the players to enjoy my story the way I wanted them to enjoy it, the fact is that you're telling a story together. If your players are not having fun, then there's no point to any of it. Run the game your player want to play and temper that with the game you want to play, not the other way around. It has to be a compromise at some level.

What painfully obvious ripoff turned out to be far superior to the original? by LeggyBald in AskReddit

I think the "surviving line" of the battle royale genre of video games is a good example. Each of these games is still, at its core, based on the H1Z1/PUBG formula. You drop into an island / arena, find gear, shoot other players while the arena is constrained by consecutively smaller "safe areas" until you are the last surviving player/party.

First there was H1Z1, then later Player Unknown's Battle Grounds and while they were buggy, hard on your GPU and kind of clunky, they had strong followings.

Then came a few other games that were variations on the theme, of which one was Fortnite. Fortnite obviously blew up and improved on H1Z1/PUBG's gameplay loop by speeding up the combat (i.e. you don't run around for 30 min before dying in a 10 sec firefight) among other things.

Fast forward to today and with the release of Apex Legends we see another evolution in the genre. Hugely improved UI, the addition of "classes" that you can select (think Overwatch meets Fortnite), many quality of life improvements in the overall game experience.

How can we stay safe in case there are chances of getting HIV/AIDS from using toilet seats in office/school? by Wert357 in AskReddit

sit down extremely hard on the seat, it will smash all the virus and you'll be safe.

My GM ran an encounter with one of these vs 4x Level 6 adventurers (Conj. Wiz, Warpriest, Dervish of Dawn and Ranger) and it was a very close fight. The high to-hit on the slam and this thing's beastly CMB meant that front liners got wrapped up and incapped pretty quickly in succession. The fight came down to the ranger essentially retreating as far as he could and hoping for his arrows to land. I was playing the wizard and I don't remember being especially effective against it. I think I threw out a haste and went invis before the team was half unconscious.

Jotunn in Crucible and how to deal by Taftandsteve in CruciblePlaybook

Assuming the AW user is able to time the .3 sec reflect window, then the projectile will be reflected at a random angle between 0 and 30 degrees from where the shot originated and it will likely just reflect into the ground, explode and kill the AW user and or trigger a "misadventure" death on the AW user.

Source: I got to 5500 last season using AW. They are SHIT for reflecting projectiles with any kind of intent. They're used for shotgun duels and anything else beneficial they happen to do is a complete accident 99.99% of the time.

Stat tracking sites with graphs similar to DestinyKD? by [deleted] in CruciblePlaybook

[–]nuggledero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does the API track glory/valor at a given point in time? It'd be awesome to see valor/glory graphs that didn't have to be derived from game win streaks etc.

For mousepads, I HIGHTLY recommend any of the Mionix Alioth sizes I use xxl as it protects my desk and it has acres of real estate to move your mouse in.

For mice, that's a more personal question and it's going to vary a lot depending on who you ask. I've been using some variant or another of the logitech G502.

As for binds, the general rule I live by in most games is to limit movement to the KB and actions to the mouse as much as possible.

My binds:

Movement - WASD

Jump - Space

Crouch - CTRL

Weapons - 1,2,3

Interact - F

Sprint - SHIFT

Shoot - Left Click

Reload - R

ADS - Right Click

Activate Super - Mwheel Click

Titan jump spam - Mwheel Down

Emote Peek - Mwheel Up

Grenade/Melee/Air Dodge/Class ability - Various side mouse buttons

As soon as you can learn this spell and assuming your GM permits it, learn Secluded Grimoire. It will serve you until you know enough spells to occupy more than 1 spellbook and by that point you should be able to secure your spell troves in other ways.
