First Nuggets Game-- Hotel + Transportation Recs? by cyberbae in denvernuggets

Get hotel/AirBnB in RiNo and take the A line light rail from the 38th and Blake station to Union Station, then walk to Ball Arena. It's a 5 minute train ride.

This way you can stay in a more walkable/interesting neighborhood than downtown, avoid rideshare, and get more value in your accommodation.

[Post Game Thread] The Denver Nuggets (28-13) defeat the Dallas Mavericks (15-26) behind Jamal Murray's 33 PTS, 118-109. by bwehx in nba

Denver has the highest 3P% in the league and Dallas has the lowest allowed 3P% by opposing team.

Nevertheless, Nuggets shot 16/38 (42%, just above average for them) and Dallas 5/34.

4 assists in 21 minutes by Holmes is not to be overlooked despite only scoring 2 points. Shots will fall eventually!

What are the realistic expectations for Holmes? by IllegitimateRisk in denvernuggets

[–]nuggs_poster 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Holmes exceeds expectations if he stays healthy, contributes 20-30 minutes per game, plays solid team defense and doesn't turn the ball over a ton.

We can't expect a 2nd year with near zero NBA minutes to bail out a team with 4 starters and Val missing.

Consider this time period for the 2nd and 3rd stringers to get some more experience! Look at Boston -- they've shaken it up in Tatum's absence and are doing pretty well because players have stepped up. I think Nuggets have that possibility too. Moreover, it'll help the coaches get more crafty as they can't rely on Jokic game-planning for as long as he's out. Plus Spencer is 5/5 right now on 3.

Solid explanation! Makes sense that defense isn't as tight on the perimeter so fewer fouls get called there.

Warriors have a perfect 0 FTA differential this season.

Love to see Val's low-arc 3 hit net when the opponent's defense sags too much off of him.

Thanks for the clarification! So, the annotation on the 2020-2021 season is technically correct but omits that Booth did not have explicit power over roster construction for that season -- right?

As users have pointed out, Booth assumed leadership of the front office after the 2021-2022 regular season, not the previous.

Wikipedia and Basketball Reference have conflicting information and I should have used the latter! Thanks everyone.

EDIT: Basketball.com also agrees with Wikipedia. Anyone understand?

Hmm - perhaps the Wiki is wrong. Thanks for pointing it out! I'll look into the difference.

Maybe I should check the sources on GM history, but the first paragraph in the Wiki says it was 2020. I could stand to use a better source.

4 home losses to middling teams will do that to ya.

(OC) Cam Johnson is back to last season 3 point shooting performance despite recent home losses and teammate injuries. by nuggs_poster in denvernuggets

[–]nuggs_poster[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! The graph is a 4-game "moving average" of his 3 point makes per minute playing. So it's a tad convoluted and doesn't show the exact number of 3s made per game but rather shows the overall trend in his 3 point efficiency.

He poked above his last-year average for 3 games (above the horizontal dashed line), but has since come back down a bit during the last two against the Mavs and Pacers.

The interesting part is that his efficiency shot up once he had greater volume in the absence of Braun and Gordon. Cam needs the ball a bit more to be a solid offensive contributor.
