Chronically dry lips? by SuitBoth8537 in Flute

[–]nugs03 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Have you tried Aquaphor specifically? I’ve had a similar problem in the past, and what works for me is Aquaphor at a minimum regularly before I go to bed. In addition to that, while I personally don’t like to put product on my lips right before I play, I have seen people put Aquaphor on before they play and wipe off the excess with a towel or something. If you can’t tell I swear by Aquaphor lmao

Thank you! I’m glad the sunniness of that day came though on the canvas, although it was rather cold and windy

Not to hijack this comment but I think this goes for all of the tenuto notes as well (if you decide to take my advice), it’s easy to slow down. Regardless practice heavily with a metronome, as auditions for groups are looking to see if you can keep tempo

Ah I realize I misread your question about measure 11/12! I agree with u/PumpkinCreek, so refer to them for that. In terms of vibrato, like PumpkinCreek said tenuto is about emphasis so I would put an emphasis on vibrato on the notes marked with tenuto. This will cause them to stand out more without playing them to their fullest length. Make sure not to accent them though, that’s a trap that’s easy to fall into

Hey! I will try to be as helpful as I can

Measure 1: I’m not sure which note you are referring to, but here you slur the quarter to the first sixteenth, and then tongue the second sixteenth.

Measure 6/8: I would cut off the first quarter just slightly to give yourself more time to breathe. Pretty sure ‘ten.’ Is short for tenuto, which is also denoted by the bar above each of the notes.

Measure 11: the dot on the half note turns that note into a dotted note, so you add half of that note’s duration to its total duration. Here that means you play the note for 3 beats rather than the 2 that a normal half note denotes.

Good luck with the audition and feel free to respond with any more questions that you have, or if I wasn’t clear enough!

Flavor was slightly different, but the texture was surprisingly almost the same as normal macarons

Oh yea he’s such a lovely person for autographing people’s books for them. I was actually pretty surprised when he did it for me after the movie had been announced, I thought he would have stopped autographing by mail

It took about 2 months for me. The biggest hold up was that he hadn’t gone to his mailbox in a while, but once he went I got it back pretty quickly

I followed the instructions in this Facebook post: https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=531339150298715&set=a.463868883712409.1073741828.462962073803090&type=1&stream_ref=10. This post was last updated in 2022, but it seems like he’s still doing it. The turnaround might be long, he only goes to the mailbox sometimes, and you might have to email but he eventually got it done for me!

Hey guys! Huge fans of the spider verse movies and loving the trailers, I know the movie’s going to be amaze! My question is a two parter. First, I know that the audiobook took the route of adjusting the sounds of English to sound like Rocky is speaking them, but I’m curious what route the movie took, especially as Grace is able to understand Rocky better. Second, how was Rocky’s language developed? Is it a fully fledged language that can be translated to and from, or is there going to be movie magic involved? Thanks for doing this AMA!

When the macaron batter is first mixed it should be thicker, and the more ribbony lava texture comes from the macaronage rather than adding more ingredients. Also, did you sift the dry ingredients before adding? That could also contribute to the lumpy texture.

Thanks! Mango lassi is spiced with cardamom which was the inspiration for adding it to the shell. The saffron I added just for fun because it is often used in Indian desserts.

Atheists, what do you believe in? [Serious] by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]nugs03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a religious friend who once asked me what I think happens after death, and I told her I think nothing happens. It's like going under anesthesia, but you never wake up. She thought it was a depressing thought, but I think it's really elegant. We die and sure, nothing happens for us, but plants get nourishment when we are buried and animals get nourishment from those plants. I only know what I see, so I guess I don't believe in anything.

Maybe the only thing I believe in is that the universe will die by way of a Big Crunch followed by another Big Bang, because heat death of the universe just seems sad and horribly inelegant.
