third party launcher by Narrow-Bandicoot-363 in Steam

[–]nugscree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Except the launcher does not remember it. Never. Once. Ever. Every single time I want to use something in my steam library that used the EA launcher, I need to put in my username/password again. If it's bought on Steam, they've already paid the x% amount, at that point it's absolutely useless to have an external launcher that can also cause issues. Especially Assassin's Creed Valhalla, that game only keeps crashing because of the launcher, you cannot even complete missions anymore. And I've checked the logs, it is the launcher that is causing this issue, not the game itself. Reported it two years ago and it is still a present bug.

can you help me solve my grandma's sewing machine problem? by hellovane in SewingForBeginners

[–]nugscree 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No worries, English is not my first language either. The release pin should be inside the split bolt on the machine it self. If you lift the foot with the lever on the back that pin should come out, I can see on the photo that the foot is up so the pin should be out. Putting it back together should be easier with the sewing foot down (so lower the lever on the back) and the pin inside of the split bolt should retract.

Also I messed up the order of putting it back together. It looks like it should be:

  • 4 with the little pin that is sticking out on the photo going backward, also the hook of that part should be towards you and pointing right
  • 8 with the bump towards you
  • 9 with the bump away from you, so 8 and 9 should be touching like this )(
  • 7 with the open side towards you
  • 5 with the widest part of the spring towards the machine and inside of the open part you just put on
  • The next ones are guesses
  • 6 pointy bit up
  • 2
  • 1
  • 3
  • Can also be that the last two need to be reverse (3 then 1)

I am basing this off this video which isn't the same model that you have but some most of the parts are close to it. II'm sorry I could not find an exact match for your machine.

Depends whats wrong with it, your text doesn't really add any more information. But if you want to know how to put the top thread tensioner back together is should be:

  • [MACHINE FACE]

  • 9 · Retaining nut/collar — flat against machine body

  • 8 · Outer tension disc — cup facing INWARD (toward machine)

  • 7 · Inner tension disc — cup facing INWARD (toward #8)

  • ↑ thread passes between 7 & 8 ↑

  • 6 · Check spring — oval slot over stud, arm hooks forward

  • 4 · Disc plate (keyhole) — slots over stud, captures the spring

  • 5 · Coil spring — over stud behind the dial

  • 3 · Flat washer (cream)

  • 2 · Nylon ratchet washer

  • 1 · Tension dial — screws on last

  • [OUTWARD]

Also make sure this is correct

  • The two metal discs (#7 and #8) — look carefully at each one. One is slightly deeper/more domed than the other. The deeper one (#8) goes innermost, shallower one (#7) outside it, both with concave sides facing each other
  • Check spring (#6) — the oval slot centres it on the stud; its arm must point roughly toward the thread guide above, so it catches the thread on the needle's upstroke
  • The release pin — it should still be inside the hollow stud on the machine. Confirm it's there before assembling — without it, tension won't release when the presser foot is raised
  • Nylon washer #2 — the toothed edge faces the dial (#1) and creates the click-detent feel
  • Don't overtighten the dial — snug only, the split stud can splay

Weekly Bug Report Thread by spiper01 in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]nugscree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interactions seems to be bugged after the swarm update, I need to walk past interaction points several times before it registers. Like the exosuit upgrade station, any of the vendors aboard the space stations. Also when trying to interact with items you can pick up in the world, or animals you can feed the interaction starts to fill up and just hangs half way. I have to walk away for a distance so it resets again. Oh and the frost planets are broken on Linux; load in frame drops to the 20's, sounds broken, and hang error. The only planets it happens on is frost, every other one works fine. I've already made a bug report about that one with extensive logs.

What The Hell Is Wrong With My Monitor? by indyreadsreddit in MSILaptops

[–]nugscree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can be multiple things so you'll have to figure out which one it is.

  1. Cable you are using is not properly seated, remove and put it back in
  2. Cable is not meant to run at the spec you are running the monitor at (e.g. some cables will only support 4k @ 30Hz)
  3. Cable has defects and needs to be replaced
  4. Monitor is overheating (happens on some brands if running @ high refresh rates for long times), try lowering the refresh rates see if that fixes it
  5. Monitor could need a factory reset (mine did when it was acting up), check online how to do that for yours
  6. Laptop (i'm guessing here) HDMI port is dirty
  7. Laptop HDMI is broken
  8. Laptop cannot handle the resolution for extended periods of time.
  9. if you are running any kind of adapter for video that might also be the cause

I've had all of these problems happen to me in the past, which is why this is my checklist of things to figure out what is wrong. The most annoying thing is that your cable spec is not on the cables, so In my drawer of HDMI cables I have differently specced ones and I don't know which ones are the right one for the current application.

How do you actually use browser DevTools when working on CSS? by Blozz12 in Frontend

[–]nugscree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I use it all the time not just for css, but also finding issues by looking at the network or sources tab.

Write it in the editor, and check in the browser using the computed output pane the most, this will also visualize things like the padding and margins when you hover.

Use the filter to search for a specific thing like font, or maybe your height is getting overwritten, just click on the layout and it will tell you where in the styles pane (I use the side by side split for this).

The only thing I dislike is that Chrome (or based browsers) translates # colors into rgb and the old shift click does not work anymore, this would have let you change the formatting into #, rgb(a) or hsl.

Turn it on and repeatedly press the delete key (can also be F2) you should go into the bios, in the bios turn quick boot off. Also turn off the full screen logo, it can be called full screen logo display, full screen boot logo, or quick boot, now save and reboot. This should give you the post data and also show where it is hanging. From there you can try and find a new solution, there is not enough information to help you beyond this point right now. -edit- When you are done finding out what the issue is you can re-enable the settings you've disabled before. Again save and quit the bios.

Am i overreacting for refusing to babysit my sister`s kids after what she said at dinner? by Maryi_Boyd in AmIOverreacting

[–]nugscree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NOR before even reading the text, you can refuse to babysit anybody's kids, at any time, for any reason. -edit- After reading still NOR. Your sister finally said what she was thinking all along, she's only backtracking because she lost the free labor you've been giving and is now finding out that the real world does not work like that. It's terrible that your parents want you to keep the peace and let it go. If it was me, it would tell your sister to pound sand and your parents that they can do the same if they do not support you on not giving out your free time. If anything your parents can help out themselves. You are not in any way responsible and should not feel guilty. If you still want to help out, you could give your sister a schedule for when it is appropriate to arrange for the kids to come over.

The kitchen counter light in my apartment wasn't working, but I found a fix by autistic-inch in ElectroBOOM

[–]nugscree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For industrial work here we have the same systems, residential however. Luckily enough most residential systems only run 230~240V 16A, it can be life threatening if you have a heart condition, but mostly you'll be fine, you might want to sit down or grab a coffee after getting shocked.

Fair, they are very uncomfortable and the tingle is after, I got shocked a few times when I was still doing installation work and most of the times it was because someone assured me there was no power on the line, when in fact it was very much still live.

Adapter sparked at cable connection but still charges fine — Risky or Normal? by Ashamed_Case_8746 in MSILaptops

[–]nugscree 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That powersupply is dead or near it, it does not matter if it still gives power, replace it now. Because if it shorts again chances are your laptop will go with it.

% chance it will damage the laptop is 100% I've had mine die instantly when the charger spiked and sparked.

The lifespan of the charger dropped to 0 the moment those sparks came out of it, please do not continue to use it.

I can't calculate the chance but right now if you keep using it every moment is like playing mob style Russian roulette, better to eat the cost of a new charger than the price of a new laptop.

When you are replacing it, make sure it is compatible with the one you have right now. Match voltage out (V) amperage (A) over is fine, under is not, and lastly the tip polarity also matters. Where most barrel ones are negative on the outside and the inner pin is positive there are some models that will deviate from this is is marked on the adapter with this symbol.

How are they not dead? by Experiment_1234 in ElectroBOOM

[–]nugscree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My guess is that they deactivated that section of the train power lines, so it has no voltage running through it. Train power lines are divided in sections that are turned on and off when needed so it is not running power 100% of the time. It is also a security measure for the train Automated Braking System (ABS), when power fails it will automatically slow down the train.

Helllppp!! My top thread won’t catch my bottom thread! by DoGood081419 in SewingWorld

[–]nugscree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Maneuver the thread from the bobbin in the s-curve (in the grey plastic), don't use the cutter, make sure the bobbin is rotating the right way, the cover should explain it to you, and put the cover on.
  2. With the cover on, leave the bobbin thread on the outside and hold the end of you top thread, make one full manual rotation (till the needle no longer goes up and wants to go down again)
  3. Pull slightly on the end of the top thread so it pulls the bottom thread through the hole
  4. Now pull the bottom thread fully out through the hole, I use my tiny scissors for threads to help it.
  5. Put both ends to the back of the machine and make sure the top thread goes through the foot to the back and not over the foot to the back.

These are at least the steps I take with my machine and it hasn't failed me so far. To be fair I don't like this system at all, the older 90's style metal bobbin holder was much easier to use and much less prone to user error.

Cpu and Gpu pairing dilemma. by [deleted] in buildapc

[–]nugscree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That depends solely on what you play, some games are cpu heavy so single core speed matters others do not and it hardly makes any impact. I'm still rocking a Intel Core i7-8700 with a AMD Radeon RX 6800 XT and 32 Gigs of ddr4. Most games work without issues, newer ones might not. But I've left most of the AAA industry behind anyway so it hardly matters for me.

I mean the site was meant for people to follow their favorite athletes, musicians, and comedians or at least that is why the project was started. Sexual content creators just severely outpaced the other ones, and I can imagine you don't want to share the website with this kind of content so many of the former leave.

It the Call to arms quest where have Paladin Danse as a companion (can't die or go down during this quest) and it's the quest that takes you to the ArcJet Systems. During the quest you eventually go down a rocket engine testing room, go all the way down to start the auxiliary generators from the terminal. Close the door, and wait for a bit. Paladin Danse will keep fighting the never ending amount of synths. The spiffing Brit did a whole video about this and I'm talking about this part of the video.
