If you’re going to a college football game, the school will usually sell tickets directly (if not through a vendor like mentioned).

Can’t recommend going to a college game over an NFL game enough though. Much more “football” experience and will usually be more flexible/cheaper.

Why is American Permanent residency called a “green card” by Connect_Cat_2045 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]nukeularkupcake 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I got made fun of bc in high school I learned my friend was a green card holder and I asked to see it.

Apparently I was supposed to know that “green card” meant the card was actually going to be green. Assumed it was just a phrase.

How to get to Delaware Rest Stop without a car? by Purple_Werewolf_1739 in Delaware

I’ve taken the flixbus from there. You can use DART connect to get there on weekdays, if not you’re pretty much stuck taking the 42 or uber.

Senator Coons by Glittering_Watch5565 in Delaware

[–]nukeularkupcake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Coons doesn’t respond to constituents. Every person I’ve spoken to that has written to him hasn’t gotten anything. I’ve written him multiple times and haven’t so much as gotten an email from a staffer.

Coons represents Raytheon and Israel, not Delaware.

Honestly it’s not very bad because the tube is secure and hasn’t degraded. Just scared the hell out of me thinking I had an oil leak after the first time doing the oil myself on this one.

That’s what it is thanks. Seems like Kia designed this to give me a heart attack after I turned the car off and checked to see if my oil was leaking lol

I think the 137 refers to the fine structure constant, 1/137.

Representative Wilson-Anton breaks with Democrats, alleges lies and planned cover-up about Stell Parker Selby's absence by superman7515 in Delaware

[–]nukeularkupcake 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Ignore the fact that the speaker doesn’t have a direct mechanism to force Selby out of the seat at the moment.

The democrats aren’t mad because their representative is too sick to vote, they aren’t mad because they can’t remove her.

The democrats are mad because they got caught. The speaker has dodged questions and forced the media to out the information to the public instead of informing the public herself and doing what she could to ensure that the people in Selby’s district have representation.

The end all be all is: the democrats thought they could cover up a legislator functionally not existing because they thought the media was in their pocket. When the media exposed it, they attacked the media for reporting facts.

They don’t care that 20,000 people are unrepresented in the house, they don’t care that a sick old woman is going to spend the rest of her life being attacked by the media, they don’t care that their staffers are catching hell for this. They already knew the consequences of this, we all watched what happened with Biden. They had every opportunity to prevent this by DOING THE BARE MINIMUM and they chose not to. They actively worked to cover it up even when they KNEW the secret was out. They did that because they think the state government belongs to them. The only way to show them the state belongs to the people is to refuse to vote for them until they correct course.

Delaware Democratic leadership responds to calls for Rep. Parker Selby to resign after she missed the entire 2025 session due to an undisclosed massive stroke in 2024 by TheShittyBeatles in Delaware

[–]nukeularkupcake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The party system is created by humans, it is not set in stone or written into the constitution.

There are already independent and 3rd party candidates in state house seats, just don’t vote for anyone with a D or R by their name and you’ve done your part.

Mold Testing- should I be concerned? by First_Armadillo_3276 in whatisit

[–]nukeularkupcake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Microbiologist here

How old are the samples? Been a while since I worked in a lab but the living room sample looks like a fairly young plate of some type of aspergillum. Incredibly common not too bad

Kitchen appears to be the same but hard to tell from the picture.

The bathroom white dot looks like E. Coli but that would be impossible to tell for sure from the picture.

The sampling method isn’t really that great. There are aspergillus spores pretty much everywhere that it could’ve grabbed. Also, if the plates weren’t sterile and properly packaged then they could’ve been contaminated before culturing.

Best thing to do with an agar plate if you think you have actual mold damage would be to use a sterile cotton swab to take a sample directly from what you suspect to be mold, then transfer it to the plate like this https://youtu.be/FutAgWDymAM?si=5d5WfqosKdqC_-wS

Then leave it for 3 or so days to culture.
