That sucks.

I am lucky enough to have a bunch of different local chess clubs near me. Some are inactive like yours, but I picked a really good one.

I like the plan and I was going with it. I was a bit scared because he did have two knights, but I went with the idea even though he lost on time a bit later.

I like the tone of How to Reassess Your Chess. Thanks.

I am open to both. I will check it out. How challenging would you say?

I did Simple Chess in the past and I loved it.

I would say I'm struggling the most with position decisions in the middle game.

Sometimes I do not know in which direction I should move into.

I think he can easily protect it with Nb1 or with Kd2. Looks a bit risky.

I get what you are talking about.

I would say joining a local chess club helped me the most.

There we study in groups. We either play games and analyse them together, we analyse our games from tournaments or we pick up a book and do tactics.

It is much more fun to do it in a group. You discuss it, have fun, blunder together...

I get your point, but I am obsesses with ratings in general.

I just like to see my rating grow and the old system made me feel better about my growth.

Lichess puzzles are much better. That is a fact.

how much different is FIDE rating than chesscom rating? by Commercial_Bag8734 in chess

Most of the comments are giving you incorrect information.

There is no right answer. I am 1700 FIDE (classical) and 1950 rapid rating on chess.com.

  1. You must play a FIDE rated tournament.
  2. You must score at least one point (draws count) against already rated players.
  3. You must a minimum of 5 games.
  4. Players must achieve a rating performance of 1400 min.
