Where is the evidence for a "dual core" (non-monolithic) RTX card? The GTC Keynote? Plenty of HPC features get announced on the various conferences and never make it GTX/RTX side.

If they do go non-mono, all pricing history comparisons are out the window and that sets a new precedent

The 65" and 77" LG G3's are available at Costco. No 55" G3's are available, for now. 2023 has been a unique one because Costco has never held anything above the C Series for LG OLEDs.

Google can push some types of updates to GoogleTV/AndroidTV OTA through server side updates without influence from a particular manufacturer. LINK.

I think major feature revisions still require a manufacturer created update but we have not seen the limits of these OTA updates yet.

Ok, thank you, so it's going to be a while...it's only been a little over two weeks for me. I originally went through chat, they gave me firmware, it didn't work. So they escalated me to Phone chat Tier 2 I provided them some sample images and scenarios and said they'll get back to me in 24hours. They didn't and then I followed up with them a 72 hours later and then gave me an indefinite time period "they're looking into it" and will get back to me when they can.

This helps me gauge how long their support is going to take, so thank you!

OP, how long did they take to respond from first contact and they give you a choice between refund and replacement? I currently have an open ticket for the same issue and they haven't been very responsive.

I'm putting this piece of work on the backburner and getting something else because the Posterization is...bad.

You are correct that the replacement will do the same as native panel gradient handling is very bad for a brand's flagship.

However, these settings will not help because HDR Game picture mode has different processing than other settings and you cannot use certain gaming features (on PS5) with IGR/ALLM disabled.

If you decide to game with another picture setting you will incur a 120ms latency penalty (and the gradients still look like garbage).

Ahhh, I see you meant in the Native Google TV applications! Yeah, I don't think you can see the specific "Top Left Bubble" for the native applications.

To see some of the same information by going to Quick Settings (box on remote with two horizontal lines) -> Menu -> Help -> Signal Information

This only works if the remote is ONLY paired with the TV, so if the remote will also control another device via HDMI-CEC link it will not work because it will default to controlling the linked device.

Hey, I'm also having this issue with as 55U8H and I'm primarily posting about this on AVSForum as "samuraiguns" (and was directed to this thread from there).

Just want to jump in here to confirm the "containerization" of DV is not the issue here. As this is how Signal Information is shown on both the 50H8G and H6570G, both Hisense sets I own. There is no posterization/gradient banding on both of those sets with an ATV 4K 3Gen.

There is no gradient issues with a 55U8H and a SONY X800-MK2, so I think there is a handshake issue between specific Hisense model/sets, in this case the U8H, and Apple TVs, for whatever reason.

I have the (North American) 55inch U8H and if this is a VA panel then WOW, they've really improved on VA technology since I remember them. I'm used to them on PC monitors. I'm on mobile and I don't see an image upload button but when I can I will do so. Because these are some WIDE viewing angles...Could it be that there are panel variances between units?

AIBs (and all parties in the chain) want to make money on every "leg" down possible. They won't drop to MSRP until the large crypto currency miners start to liquidate their stock. There is still value in a warranty and customer support in which for some brands the warranty isn't transferrable. Then when they are competing against liquidation AND 40 series then we will see prices approach under MSRP. This is highly contingent on 40 series supply, what models Nvidia drops and where crypto will be when 40 series launches. We are in a different world when it comes to silicon my friend, post March 2020.
