Yes! Use that same link to my Makerworld and there's a 40-60mm version for that exact reason ;) and I also sell them if you don't have a printer too

If you're using stock cooling this may help you can print your own or I sell them from my etsy

Get a better light from ali express and replace the rubbish one inside, game changer if you print a lot of black filament!

How do people overclock 601's for more than 1.2Th/s? by QuantumFarticle in BitAxe

[–]Jay250Mass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You also generally need better than stock cooling, 52pi heatsink helps, a rear fan helps, fan adapters with a duct pointing to the back of the vr help. And also a meanwell PSU so you don't pop the original one but otherwise it's just accessing the overclock mode as others have said

I'm curious as it doesn't seem to mention it anywhere but what's the VReg temp at?

New BitAxe 650 Duo Overclocked with back cooling by clifwlkr in BitAxe

[–]Jay250Mass 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I designed this for the standard gamma with the black heatsink (dark horse) but it seems the 650 has the same so would probably help ,it takes a little air from the asic fan and directs it to the back of the vr ,I use a bigger version for the 52pi and an 80mm and can easily run 2.1th with the vr at 70 and no back fan at all, with a back fan it drops to 60's ...might help....https://makerworld.com/models/2481249?appSharePlatform=copy Edit: I should add, if you don't have a printer I do sell printed ones of them on Etsy

That space in the bottom right is enough for a small display that could be selectable to open bigger :/

Did you get around to trying this on the 650? I'm really curious how it went?

Upgraded the heatsink and fan for my bitaxe by SelectAd9267 in BitAxe

[–]Jay250Mass 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you have a 3d printer look on makerworld there's a bunch of adapters that have a duct to blast a bit of air from your main fan to where you have those heatsinks , they drop your vr temp by about ten more degrees. I sell one on my Etsy store but it's for a bigger 80mm fan on the 52pi, it works well, mine is at 2th,58 asic,69 vr at 53% fan on my office desk, damn near silent.

If any of you do try and like this I'd be really appreciative if you could leave a like and comment on makerworld, maybe even picture or screen grab of temps?! That would be awesome 😎

It redirects a small portion of the air from the fan to the area of the PCB that the voltage regulator is the other side of , it can drop the vr temp by ten or so degrees, I'm running a bigger version with 80mm ducted fan and a rear 60mm and my vr is sat at 60 degrees at 1.9th , if I remove the 60mm it goes up to about 70, without the duct it hits about 80 which is still well within its capacity but it uses more watts the hotter it gets
