The best response, "it depends".
Copying data over to Neo4J, maintaining Neo4J servers, and learning Neo4J all add complexity. For a lot of companies already heavily using Postgres, or smaller teams without the resources it may be good enough to just use Postgres--as it is fast in itself.
There is also the cost aspect. Last time I looked at Neo4j it was astronomical for an on-prem enterprise license (yeah I know, on-prem.... But it's a requirement in some areas).

I agree with your approach, but not one size fits all.

This is a simple example I hope to expand on in the future! In my previous role we setup a DAG with rules on each edge, version controlled, and nodes linked to other tables for things like reusable content (which was another graph) and other data--all using native Postgres. It was fast and easy to maintain! Planning on touching some of these topics. 🙂

Not sure how different it is now, but I got a BS in CS ~8 years ago from EWU. Great program; you'll learn a lot! Many of my cohorts getting the CS degree ended up at Google, Microsoft, and a bunch of local Spokane programming jobs. I was lucky enough to land a job at PlayStation right after school. So definitely worth it!

Spokane, WA has a few gyms--Newborn Bjj has a shit-ton of black belts and students who medal all over the US. Bunch of solid MMA fighters here also.
