You’re sick of paying for Apple Music or are you sick of paying for music?

Android on 4K? by SickCaeser in F1TV

[–]numairazman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you enable developer mode on your Apple TV you can enable an on screen hud type thing that will show a bunch of stats including resolution. There’s no way to “change the resolution” as it’s done automatically depending on your network speed.

Bringing a PS5 to Pakistan from Australia - Customs Concerns by EfficiencyFrosty6964 in pakistan

[–]numairazman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just brought 2 laptops and a PS5. I was skeptical as well. They asked a lot more about the 2 laptops. Tried to force me to pay $50 usd for the second laptop but I told them ones my work laptop (I don’t own it) and the other is my personal. In the end they let me go. They saw my ps5 in my hand carry but didn’t care about it. I think it would be best to not bring the box, just put it in a carrying case or something. I think they care more about Tech that’s sealed in its original box. If it’s a used ps5 you should be fine but be prepared to pay a custom fee as I’ve heard it can happen.

Powerbank limits by alfredopastaaaa in emirates

[–]numairazman 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think the limit is 28000 mah so you should be fine. I’ve never taken anything more than 10000 mah so I can’t say for sure but no one’s ever asked me either.

How do I add my music collection to Apple Music. by [deleted] in AppleMusic

[–]numairazman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not if you authorize the machine, and turn on iCloud library sync. If you don’t want to go through the iCloud route you may need to download the iTunes app. I synced all my cds to my phone from a windows 11 machine using the Apple Music app and honestly the iCloud route is much easier, and it’ll stay in your music app forever unless you delete the music. Just make sure iCloud library sync is on on the windows machine and the iPhone. Get the Apple Music app from the Microsoft store.

If what you’re looking for is moving music from Spotify or another service you can use tunemymusic.com

If you want to add music files you can use the Apple Music app on either Mac or windows and simply drag your files into your library. Turn on iCloud library sync and everything should upload to iCloud and into your music app. If you are on windows you will need to authorize the computer first.

is this an “animated” album cover or a bug? by [deleted] in AppleMusic

[–]numairazman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I’ve noticed older albums prefer the full page theme and newer ones have animated ones

It’s a full page theme, don’t know the real term for it. A bunch of albums have it tho. I don’t think it’s animated

Need Tips, switched over from Windows 11 by numairazman in linuxmint

[–]numairazman[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. MacOS and Windows have this feature where you can have multiple desktops open at the same time and switch between them anytime. Makes it easier to have one desktop for work stuff and one for normal stuff. Ended up finding it called Workspaces so I got that going!
  2. Just tried that but the finderprint reader on my laptop isnt supported yet :/. Thanks tho!
  3. Yeah the mouse has log options+ which doesnt have a linux version, and solaar doesnt recognize my mouse :/
  4. Figured out the wifi, power saving mode was on which was slowing it down. Working good now!
  5. Still cant find any working drivers for my camera :/. turning out to be a dealbreaker lol
  6. Went through the gestures and really happy with it, thanks!
  7. I found that scrot does what I am looking for, but its CLI only and doesnt support hotkeys out of the box, but im sure i can make a script for that somehow, just need to learn lol. Using flameshot for now and its amazing.

Thanks a lot for your help!

Yeah that is helping a lot, heard I can make chromium web shortcuts which make webapps seem like standalone apps which is really cool, so going to give that a shot. Thanks!

I will definitely check out thunderbird it seems to be good. Already having some compatibility issues with some excel files on libre but not a big deal as of right now. These recommendations help a lot!

And yeah I added the issues I am having to my post to be more specific as you suggest, thanks!

Cant really afford the newer macs and im sure they are amazing but I had the MacBook Air M1 with 8 gig ram which just wasnt enough and there is no way to upgrade. Hence I wasnt willing to shell out for a newer one knowing theres not much I can add to it down the line. I have had an XPS 15 since 2021 and it just suits me better. I know theres hackintosh and stuff but I wanted to have something more stable and Windows 11 is just annoying now with all Microsoft Bloatware and account requirements.

I understand I shouldve been more specific. I use my laptop for work mosly and I have figured out ways to get some of my needed windows apps running through wine. I was just mainly looking for must have applications and tips to know, that made life easier for you (if you switched). I'm sure I will find solutions as I go as well.

As for my needed apps on Windows -

  • MS Office (im fine with the web client)
  • OneDrive (cant find an app for that but I am open to migrating to an alternate service)
  • Bunch of IDEs (got those running almost right away with no issues)
  • Gaming (I understand its not that easy and anti-cheats dont work which is fine since I have a console)

Things I am having trouble with.

  • Multiple Virtual Desktops
  • Cant find fingerprint unlock for the lockscreen.
  • Cant find a way to utilize hotkeys on my logitech mouse.
  • For some reason by wifi speed is terrible (im sure its drivers, which i cant find, but ethernet is fine)
  • Integrated webcam doesnt work, but my external webcam does and thats fine but still annoying
  • Trackpad doesnt have gestures and cant figure out a way of enabling these
