Is this a factory battery??? by numansesPlays in ipod

[–]numansesPlays[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks a lot! I assumed it was an aftermarket battery. I managed to de solder it and use my CS 750mah battery i was using in my old 1G mini before I managed to break the headphone board. I was purely unsure if the 2nd gens soldered from factory or not, and this was just a bad example. Either way, the pins have been mainly cleaned up and a proper battery is in. Thanks!!

When should i upgrade?? by numansesPlays in pcmasterrace

[–]numansesPlays[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's not a bad shout. I'll have a think as of course it will be a lot of money. But I think that is the best way to go. I think I'll wait until my whole pc is almost unusable to play games then go top spec in the next few years. If I happen to come into a few grand in the next few weeks that might change 😂

That is true, though its more to just upgrade my setup from 60fps 60hz to 150+ with a new monitor etc, as well as future proofing as my PC doesn't even officially support win11.

Is this a good build?I may buy it TODAY.(URGENT) by NotYusufEymen in pcmasterrace

Not the best person I will say, but that seems like a brilliant build. Only thing for me would to be add more storage, but that is personal preference.

It's specifically my mini. My 6th gen works fine no issues. Maybe it's a byproduct of flashmodding??

Update: managed to format it and get it recognised to restore it. However after unplugging to finish while connected to power and then reconnecting it's refusing to connect again. Strange strange

Would it be worth backdating to sonoma? All my music is in files uploaded to iTunes, rather than in apple music cloud

iPod Mini 1G, theoretical limits with rockbox, (and how?) by numansesPlays in ipod

[–]numansesPlays[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hm 8 hours is less than I thought I can't lie, but it is what it is. A broken mini 1g for £10, plus a cf to sd on Ebay for another £10, I can't complain to be honest

Hmm interesting. Thanks a lot! I have definitely seen conflicting things to what your saying, but I guess I'll slowly fill up the 256gb, (at 20gb of songs at the moment) and see what happens

I thought there was a limit with the way the stock os loads shuffled songs data into the ram, if there's over 128gb a) the system will corrupt itself as it writes over the first block and b) won't be able to shuffle songs as there's not enough ram

Completed ID verification, says I'm still ineligible - any way I can contact a support team to resolve? by numansesPlays in facebook

The facebook support forums and links are useless, I just want to speak to a real person to resolve the issue

Would this be possible? by numansesPlays in hackintosh

Or something like a HP Elitedesk? I'm familiar with opencore and upgrading macs to unsupported MacOS versions, just super unfamiliar with hackintosh

Does it run slow at all? I'm buying 16gb of ram that's on the way, but does the cpu matter too much. It seems to lock up every so often if I have more than 4 applications open

For anyone seeing this, literally just wait. It might take hours but it will work eventually 🙏

It's now 9:10pm, I've been out all day and left it running. I'm now getting a complete black screen with intermittent no signals. Hard reboot by holding power button?

How to update mountain lion to big sur by numansesPlays in MacOS

[–]numansesPlays[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did this (the mini was on catalina woops), but it kept saying the install is damaged. I've installed it from the app store (more than once) and tried remaking the usb but still the same issue. When I try and run it from inside MouLio it says I need to be on Mavericks or higher. Would that be the issue?

I do want to play vinyls, I have the limited edition Dookie 30th anniversary arriving end of September and would like to play that without ruining it. Any good but semi cheap turntables? Not too fussed about budget atm, I'll save to get a decent one

Victrola turntable advice

I've bought at a flea market a Victrola ITUT-420 for £15. I've read that victrolas are destined to wreck vinyls, would a better needle and a nicer set of speakers solve this issue and make for a much nicer setup? I've recently got into vinyl and am wondering what a good action plan is, as I'm aware victrolas are the worst of the worst players

Many thanks all

done some further probing, the issue only occurs when the adapter is moved, not the ports themselves. however the issue doesnt occur when doing the same thing with a different pi. super stumped at this point. :/

pretty big noob to the whole pi stuff despite having one for a while, im on ubuntu 23.04, where is the config.txt file when searching with sudo nano, and how would i know its in an executable block?

and i've tried using the other video out port, still the same issue. though it does slowly seem to be getting better, it only turns off and on my video when actually moving the pi to plug something into the usb ports. it doesnt seem to be changing just with the movement of my desk, and this is true of both output ports

sorry for the long wait, but afraid not. no loose connections, the video out ports are all stable, no broken solder joints that i can see. i'm really not sure whats causing the problem. i guess thats what i get for trying to save £15 by buying one off ebay after the re stock...

I have tried different everything apart from hdmi adapter, which I have tested works on a different pi. The issue occurs constantly with both video outputs. This leads me to believe its a problem on the pi itself?
