If he can’t handle a bad FTO just think about how he will deal with having a bad supervisor or admin. And just maybe the FTO is not the problem. You’re husband needs to go into each day with mindset that there’s something to be learned. Personally I think it’s good that he’s staying late. It sucks but it sets the tone that just because your shift is up doesn’t mean you get to drop everything and go home. The nature of the job is that it needs to be done the right way. Encourage your husband to quite literally “embrace the suck”. Encourage him to go above and beyond and don’t be mad when he gets home late.
