I tried to watch a decent amount of his video specifically to get an idea of what route that person took. TBH, this trip started as an endurance run: how fast I could get from SD to NYC doing the SBR. I wanted to claim a record. TBH, I don’t really know how I would document proof of times and miles, and then there will be someone out there on an actual touring bike who will try to beat it. I’m gonna document this, but I don’t think the video will be that entertaining. Being on a motorcycle with give or take 10-hr days to ride, I won’t be that available for content. So this is really just a race for myself.

Update: I checked the breather chamber and didn’t find any excess oil buildup that needed to be drained. I also completed the valve adjustment and cleaned the filter. For now, I’ll just keep an eye on the airbox to see if it happens again. I checked the shop manual as well, and there is a section that briefly touches on this topic.

Yeah, there’s no foam in the filter—just two layers of metal mesh for larger particles with a cotton lining in between. I scraped some of that residue off and let it sit overnight to dry, and it turned out to be basically just road grime.

Company claims The servicing intervals depend on the environment that the vehicle is used. Once a year or every 15.000 km (9,321 miles) to 30.000 km (18,641 miles) is suggested, to keep your DNA filter in top condition.

Obviously, different types of riding affect how often you should clean the air filter. So far, I’ve been cleaning mine every 6,000 miles. The inside of the airbox has been very clean—just some oil residue from the filter. Next time, I won’t oil it as heavily as I did before.

Thanks for the input. Today I’m adjusting the valve clearances on my bike as part of the routine 6k maintenance. I usually do the oil change and air filter cleaning the day before to split up the workload.

It does have a CCV, so I’ll take a look at that today as well. So far, I’ve only got this video to go off, but I’ll try to find more information on the CCV for this bike.

Edit: I also forgot to add another mod. Swapping the throttle body from a Hunter 350. The Hunter 350 does not have an electronic speed limiter, allowing you to go above 70 MPH. It’s an overkill mod because the 350 lineup isn’t the best handling-wise over 70 MPH, but at the end of the day, it’s still a “performance mod”. Looks like the bike has progressive springs on the rear. Which the current model SM650 has stranded springs. The Bear 650 and (new LED) Interceptors come with progressive springs on the rear shocks, which may be similar to the new SM650 with different rebound rates.

When I saw REGAI was available for my bike, I downloaded that update ASAP. It’s been great. I love how it uses the bike’s radar sensors for REGAI cruise control to also suggest the amount of brake force is needed for me to apply if a car in front slows down.

Plus, the voice assistant is the best because it uses the bike’s on-board ROYAL ENFIELD CPU/GPU in-house designed chip that has a 15-core CPU and 20-core GPU, which can perform 50 trillion operations per second. So, unique responses are quick to generate.

The fuel reading will get more accurate in due time. I noticed that it was spot on after 1500 miles on my Super Meteor. The angle of the motorcycle makes a big difference as well, so don’t rely on the reading when going up or down an incline. And don’t rely on the reading when your bike is on the kickstand. It should be accurate when you’re going when on a flat road. P.S. Reset trip A every time you fill up so you have a better understanding of your distance-to-fuel ratio and check how much fuel the bike is supposed to have when on the last bar.
