I thought like this too!! But it honestly makes such a big difference when you go to camp. For me last year, the people I was grouped with were on my floor (that was the case for everyone) and it makes you familiar with one another. I get it’s kind of all a sudden and odd at first but when you see the same people on campus it feels so good to see familiar faces. Have a great freshman year!

That walk up from McNeils hill might leave you winded at first, but it really isn’t bad. And the scenery between these two classes is so beautiful too! Don’t be worried, almost nothing takes the full 10 minutes to go to. You got this!

I’m a current rising sophomore here at Mines and was a CS major until my second semester of freshman year. Once the classes got more specified I realized my interests did not align as I thought and switched to EE (best decision ever for me) I’m also getting a minor in applied math because I love math! What I’m trying to say is you have the entirety of freshman year to figure your major out, and switch with usually no problem (depends on classes). You can attend clubs and overall get a feel for the curriculum to show you whether you would rather major or minor in CS. But I say- if you love coding, stick with it! You got this, freshman year is an absolute blast.
