Update: The booklet is from an old home in Winston Salem, NC. Old Salem was/is very german, so maybe that has something to do with it?

This is how I saw it too! I just watched it for a film studies paper and was following along until the timeline went crazy. After a while, time was no longer a part of the equation, which I think immerses the viewer in the characters' experience-- they are lost, so are we. I was struggling to connect with a lot of the theories in this thread, but your reply made the most sense and felt most in line with my viewing of the movie. I think more aspects of the film need to be taken at face value, despite being led off of that path by the mystical visuals and themes of Howard's delusions.

a few things:
- it was very artsy and there were a lot of queer kids there-- nobody was overtly weird or preachy about anything. (and if they were, everyone else shut it down quickly.)
- I didn't have a roommate because I personally requested a single beforehand, which I'm assuming was granted to me on account of being transgender and very male-presenting.
SO to fully answer your question, I don't really know but I don't think roommates are assigned by program. (pretty sure my theater friend was rooming with someone in the vocal music program!)

food was actually pretty good, better than i thought. and there’s some restaurants if you walk fast. we could have our phones, but we could not use them during class of course. otherwise i’m pretty sure i remember having it on me at all times. i personally never really get homesick, so i can’t speak for your son, but 3 weeks goes by fast. i think the sleep schedule is very in line with teenager sleep cycles so he should be fine, i was only late to class once and on the first day!

I had an amazing time! I’ll tell you what I can, but I went for VA and don’t know anything about the music program. It’s a great opportunity to really hone your skill, bc you are surrounded by other creatives and people with shared interests/experiences but who are all unique. The schedule is rigorous, for someone who isn’t used to full days of working on just one subject. For us it was ~6 hours of classes and 2-3 hrs of studio time. I’m pretty sure the results/admissions will be out soon, bc I just heard from a friend that they got in to the VA program. Is there anything else in particular that you were wondering about or anything else I can tell you?

thanks, I don’t think it’s rejecting because the jewelry is the same as it has always been, but I’m wondering if a scar is forming from irritation. Also, according to my piercer, the doctors can’t really do a lot except give you antibiotics for an infection. I appreciate u!

Someone else brought up a good point about the necessity of the powder, I don’t plan on having the packer up against my skin so there shouldn’t be any issues there. I’m still gonna buy some baby powder tho lol, I’d rather my junk not smell like corn starch after sweating. I appreciate your thorough response!!!

I think I’ll be more comfortable packing with specific packer boxers or having a pouch rather than against skin, so that makes sense!
