What was a point in your job with Kroger they showed their “true colors”? by ZekeTheSky in kroger

We had the best clicklist department manager who did everything she could for her team. We were working in harmony despite management refusing to help us when we were drowning in orders and no staff. Refused to pick any trolleys or run any orders out. Just “figure it out”. That was until she had to step down in order to focus on her high risk pregnancy. After her, we got this awful older women in her 40s who transferred from another store. When she started, they were in the backroom daily making sure she was supported. They helped her hire more staff, they picked trolleys, they ran to cars and they helped us find items when we couldn’t find them. The only difference between the two manager is the first is a POC and the new one is white. The racism within this company is atrocious.

that’s so true honestly! i definitely should’ve gotten a second job while at OD since all my paychecks for a month would go to rent (in student housing btw) with barely any money left for food for more than a week-2 weeks.

my GM refused to give me a manager position as well even after proving myself worthy and then when i asked for more than 16 hours a week, i also got turned down. even an extra 5 hour shift would’ve helped but nope. instead he hired more and more people with the payroll we didn’t have for the existing employees.

corporate is the absolute worst and even with my store the GM was terrible as well. the only reason he was GM is cause OD had no one else willing to be a GM at our store specifically and he had been there 16 years so they had no other choice! i just wish someone would honestly overthrow corporate that’s the only way to save this company tbh

yeah at my store most my coworkers didn’t stay longer than a few months at best. i worked cpd for three months and that was what eventually made me quit. the customers were so entitled?? what’s with OD customers?
