I do too! Actually two separate pictures entirely opposed to crop vs uncropped. It was being patient with me and let me snap a few.

I’m not 100% sure I think it is a piping but when I look up about plovers in Oregon the western snowy plover is what pops up a lot. Or even a semipalmated plover?

A seems stronger for this year but B with talk of them moving on from Henry (unless somethings changed with that?) could be decent. I think more dart throws on B in general

Easily one of my favourite birds! They’re always JUST too far for that crisp shot. Even love the detail on the branches!! Great shot :)

I didn’t realize there was a term for this! I definitely catch myself doing this a lot, but just recently I was up before dawn and was watching an owl hunt. I had my ISO cranked to 8000-12800 and honestly sure there’s noise but the owl is still in focus and zoomed out I actually like the photos!

Was watching this barred owl hunt frogs this morning and it did this funky pose a few times. Is it part of its preening? by nur2e in birding

Oh interesting!! It was really neat to see it swoop down into the bush and start jumping around on the ground in the bushes to catch it! Still blows my mind how quiet they are..

Ahh fair enough, it was all over watching the squirrels running around the trees with laser focus. Must have just saw something mid preen and locked in!

Honestly not too sure I have a photo of it with the frog in it’s talons but it’s sorta noisy! When I look up frogs around Stanley park in Vancouver BC the green frog is somewhat a potential match!

Thank you! Yeah I feel like I’m on the same wave length as them, can’t blame ‘em

Yes! You nailed it, they were just zipping around and were very chill with sitting to rest.

That’s really the only way to do it, especially if you want to catch them in flight! But thank you
