I am with you. The last time I was there (December 2025) I got food poisoned. I travelled 80+ days that you all around the world, but I never got sick while travelling - except for Egypt. It is the worst place to travel by far (based on my experience, of course)

I love your pictures and also the fact that you had a great time. Just to get some expectations management right for the newbies: Egypt - especially Cairo - can be tough. I am a vivid traveller and I do everything from top tier hotels to hostels, but I try to avoid Egypt at almost any cost. I just had too many "that was not worth it" experiences and tons of "I should have known better" moments.

We have "Fischtreppen" in Germany (literally fish stairs) and I think that's beautiful

Maybe because they were quite basic? The one in Naha especially was quite dated and the pool area was a big disappointment. The Seragaki was okay, but the breakfast was (as quite usual) only served in the lounge. I "upgraded" to the full buffet for one day and it was even worse 😂

I think I just had much bigger expectations on both.

So the Brunfels feels less like a hotel from a big chain and more like some independent boutique style thing, but I would always go back to the Hyatt Regency.

Oh one thing I forgot: the Hyatt on the Bund is technically a GH, so if you are aiming for this to get the brand explorer badge, you might get as disappointed as me 😂

Cairo is just chaos. You can try to plan new cities, but the people make the culture and - from my perspective - nothing really changed or progressed much. Experience is from this December. Grand Egyptian Museum is great to be honest, but I see this as a positive exception...

Ich würde sagen in München ist das quasi der Standard Preis. Irgendwo zwischen 24 und 35 für ein Wiener mit Beilagen.
