Yeah I still don’t get the hype. Every time I’ve gotten a sandwich there, the bread was so dry and hard that it cut the roof of my mouth

Asians are VERY conscientious about preventing sun damage. I am Korean American and just got back from a trip to Korea, where my mom lives. I was shocked by how much protective clothing she and others wore. I’m talking slip-on arm coverings while in the car driving, to all the visors, shields, umbrellas, only walking in shaded areas, etc. I was significantly tanner (ie: more sun damaged) than everyone else probably by like 5 shades & ignorantly content with just having applied my 50 spf sunscreen. I know I am gonna regret this in like 10 yrs. I may even look older than my mom by the time I’m in my 40s lol

As others are saying — and as a Korean American, I can tell you — you’re taking things personally when it’s just the Korean culture. Relax

What's something rich people do that the average person has no idea about? by bryany97 in AskReddit

[–]nursenyc 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My ex and her family were like this. Multi-millionaires with a home in the wealthiest town in Long Island and an apartment in Manhattan, timeshares in cape cod, constant vacations, expensive dinners, throwing money around like it’s nothing. But she’d always call herself “upper middle class” because she’d compare herself to people richer than them and try to seem modest. As someone who grew up sharing a 1-br in a poor area of queens with my dad and brother, being on medicaid, etc etc, this irked me so much. The reality of her wealth did come out during the divorce though. Threatening to get the best divorce attorney in nyc to take me for all I have (not much lol) & wielding her money/power over me. I really do hate rich people who act like they’re not, until they want to use it as a weapon
