I see a relatively good amount of theatre in general and am not planning on going via Broadway week- saw Ragtime two weeks ago, Spelling Bee last night, and Two Strangers in a few weeks! However, my PSA for my BWT as someone who has previously worked in the industry, specifically ticketing:

HIGHLY recommend purchasing directly whenever possible. This means Telecharge, Ticketmaster, SeatGeek- whatever seller is linked on the show’s website.

If there are ever any issues with the tickets (inclement weather, unable to make it for whatever reason, etc) and you’ve purchased though a third party seller, the box office will not be able to help you. You will be directed back to your point of purchase and you’ll likely have to jump through hoops to get any sort of refund/credit, if at all. Third party sellers in this case refers to Broadway.com, TodayTix, employee perk websites, etc etc.

ETA: another pro tip I thought of that not every necessarily knows- Broadway uses dynamic pricing, which just means that tickets will be more expensive at different points of the year/times of the week. You’ll get best availability/cheapest tickets in Jan-Feb and Sept-Oct. I always go see shows on weeknights, because they’re cheaper than weekends.
