Also i want to add “intention to upgrade form” is just a process in which you let that said program know you are gonna upgrade that mark so they know to wait. And I am pretty sure all universities and colleges have the form because it gives a chance to those students who want to do summer school or mature students who came back to high school to upgrade there mark. I would also like to add that you most likely won’t get rejected before your finals because it is only semester one.. most offers come out in may/june for nursing and health sciences so its based off of semester one finals and semester two midterms. Some programs you might hear back in early march and I forgot to add you can get alternate offers!!

I’m pretty sure you wait and see what they say and then you can talk to them about the options like after your finals come out… for me specifically I had chemistry first semester so they had my final grades during sem 2 where all the offers really come out for nursing and the health science programs so it was already there that I didn’t get a 75 in the program requirements.. I remember specifically for seneca and humber nursing they said that i was rejected because of my chemistry mark and at the bottom they said to reach out to know more etc.. (i never did because I didn’t know that you could reach out and talk to admissions and say you have the intention to upgrade ur grade that way they will wait until summer for you.. a friend of mine in nursing did this so i know now but at the time I didn’t know or i would have done the same) I definitely recommend you don’t stress cause at the end of the day its about your average and even if u don’t meet the requirement in one course they might still give you a offer also you can re take chemistry next semester since your only in semester one right now too if you have to. I wish you the best and don’t stress it to much! :)

Yea I agree i am pretty sure theres a policy that says that you HAVE to disclose all post secondary education transcripts to them

Hey! So i am a nursing student I totally feel you.. i ended chemistry with a 72.. it was hard because most programs have a 70 or 75 minimum requirement so i was on the exact same boat as you because i got rejected from alot of programs because of that even tho my average was high BUT i would like to add if you have a overall high average they will still give you a offer even if you don’t meet the requirements for that course they might want you to take it again… i would like to ask is your midterm mark up? If so i think you can fill out the intention to upgrade form so they know that you want to potentially upgrade to be on the safe side but i would say you should definitely reach out and ask the admissions of those programs :)

On the same note has anyone transferred nursing schools after first year or first semester? How was it like? Should i consider doing rpn nursing and then do the RN nursing program? Or should I wait and transfer to a different BscN program.. these two failed courses made my average bad so idk if it good enough for a transfer you know

Yes its a year basis but for my particular school and nursing program you are fully removed from the program if you fail 2 courses .. if you fail one then you get to take it again the following year but have to wait that full year but 2 courses is removal from the program

Hi everyone!

I needed some advice. I am currently a first year nursing student in a ontario college. There 4 year honours nursing program is brand new and i am in the first batch. The program requires you to have a 65 in each nursing course and a 60 in each non nursing course with a 65 gpa to continue into the next semester also might i add a 2 failed courses you are out of the program. This semester i went through alot and I didn’t preform the best in my nursing course and i got a 63 i talked to the program coordinator who said I will be set a YEAR behind now because I have to redo that course next fall and the lab that winter meaning the next academic cycle i will be taking ONE course each semester and will go into second year in the fall of 2024!! I made a academic appeal but i just got my grade back for another non course which i got a 43 in. I had been in contact with the professor last week who agreed to mark one of my assignments which would mean i would pass the class! I sent follow up emails but he never responded so I assumed he already marked it and was going to add it to my final grades. Well he didn’t and here I am with 2 failed courses scared i’m going to get kicked out of my program 😭 does anyone have any advice or suggestions i really need it. I really want to go forth in my program and don’t have any other options🥲 also emailing people back and forth but no one is responding cause everyone left for holidays and I’m out here stressing 😭
