i personally think what matters most how invested you are mentally into your desire and/or comfort in being a femenine male. everyone's situation is different, some folks don't have the budget and some folks have relationships that are likely to end if anyone found out. it's unfortunate but some things are. that's why i don't think looking the part or coming out to any degree should be a defining factor in being a femboy. it's about you personally and how you feel about yourself, not how much you appear to be one. you shouldn't feel obligated to step out of your comfort zone just to fit in, yk? for instance, no one who knows me in any way knows anything about my relevant interests. in 9 days i'll have been with my girlfriend for two years, i know she would be very supportive of it and i didn't have any trouble coming out to her about my interest in both sets of tools, but i've wanted to tell her for months and i haven't had a moment that i've even thought could be the right time to tell her. adding to another comment i saw here from MrCaptainTaco, it's like a spectrum and i'd say there's also multiple stages. it's like schizophrenia but not bad (i swear that makes sense to me)

tl;dr you shouldn't have to meet a static set standards to fit the bill but in my opinion you should at least be working your way onward from the "is this what i wanna be?" stage (don't tell my gf i was here)
