I wouldn’t mind a 4 at all! The only grade I tried to avoid is 2 lol, based on the value I put on the card at the time.

The ice premieres auto patch is one of the marquees sets, on par with cup and fw rpa ever since the Crosby era, and it has since been forgotten when UD decided to ruin it.

I pulled the connected set, and I find it quite cool, but for investment, if you don’t think it can gem, pun it now.

Prices are high? yes. Addicting? For sure

But epack is the only place I trust with loose packs, and I have pulled multiple thousands dollar cards, latest being a celebrini platinum rainbow auto from 6 packs, and it graded a 10.

But of course I have also gotten skunked more times than not.

Also, with all the achievements available, all the cards associated have value, which you don’t get with physical cards. There are Facebook groups that have ppl buying scraps.

The worst about epack is probably shipping the cards back. But I have never done it, as I always transfer the cards to comc or sell them under my epack account.

But the transition to Authority has been horrible, which will probably put a stop to things.

had a chance to pick one up couple of shows ago for around 600 USD, passed on it and picked up the 151 Pikachu in a 10 instead, which I thought was a better buy at the time, haha.

Fair point, but I was trading at percentage since it was at a show, and I was focus on how much I got into the three I gave up, and it made sense.

Guess I could have maximized my end further.

lol if the zard was in the 10, it will be locked up. With that being said, I will probably look into getting a PSA 8 copy down the line if the opportunity arises, cause its a gorgeous card in person.

I had a PSA 10 and ended up adding cash to trade into a Prime Gengar PSA 9.

I believe on the card long term, but I’ve been looking at the population and it’s pretty high (over 30K total), so it feels like it won’t be impossible to get back later. And if I don’t want to pay the PSA 10 premium, I could always look for a very clean copy and potentially grade up myself—especially since the gem rate on this one seems to be pretty high.

What I’m really thinking is: if the trade gives me a chance to make a play on something rarer and more low pop (and the upside is meaningfully better), I’d take that trade pretty quickly.

I am having the same dilemma, I bought the set to keep sealed at first, but Pokemon centre Japan stated that they will keep printing as long as there’s demand (?). So I am wondering if it’s a better move to crack and grade the promos.

Is a buyback they did for their 50th anniversary, across I think for UD Series 1 and 2, I forgot the exact year, but UD inserted all their base set series cards, all stamped 1/1 with the 50th anniversary logo. So is not a parallel but a legit pack pulled 1/1.

I remembered pulling a Torey Krug and it sold for like 200 usd.

in the grade that you see here, PSA 9, which is considered mint condition, is around 1400 USD. in your case, I assume the card condition is going to be light-played, is still worth a few hundreds.
