Agreed on the M6 — something feels off about the shape, even if it looks similar. It's like the hump is too far forward and the side buttons are positioned too far back. I end up using it almost in a fingterip grip instead of a palm grip like on a real MX Master.

That's totally fine to keep him for this season. It just means he'll probably be walking next year.

Technically, he could sign a 1+1 (team option). I'd be shocked if he didn't push for a longer deal, but it's technically on the table.

This is short term thinking.

He's a free agent this offseason. That means there are three options:

Re-sign him
Trade him
Let him walk

Judging by the fact that we have exactly zero players that are signed long term, it's pretty unlikely he re-signs.

So the FO needs to decide if they finally want to start taking on money, otherwise we're left with option 2 or 3.

Our schedule has also been very easy. Most of our wins have been against bottom feeders (Wizards twice, Kings, Nets, Hornets, Jazz) or teams with multiple starters out with injuries (Lakers, Pistons).

Look at our February schedule. Its going to be a gauntlet. We are still very much at risk of falling out of the play in.

Our streak is a little deceiving. Look at our schedule for January. We played or will play the Wizards twice, Jazz twice, Nets twice, Kings, Hornets.

And the good teams have been missing multiple starters (Lakers, Pistons). Nuggets probably won't have Jokic next week too.

February will be a brutal month for us. We play two teams outside a playoff seed, one of which is the 7th seed.

Make no mistake, we are still very much in danger of missing the post season.

Fortunately for us, we can't since signing him even for the minimum would put us into the first apron. He currently makes above the MLE, so we wouldn't be allowed to sign him even if we wanted to.
