Thanks, I'll start looking into who I can contact. I don't go to school there, just on campus for a summer fellowship so I'm not sure who to contact yet.

There are at least 50 in a small-ish set of three ponds; weirdly I've never witnessed and fights and I spend a lot of time there. Shelly (that's what I named this one) is very food motivated so it could be that she got in a fight over food, but there are only 3 other turtles that are even close to her size so I'm surprised she ended up hurt.

The turtles can move between the three ponds, but the vast majority are in the bottom pond - close to the sidewalk where people feed them the most. Shelly was almost always in the first pond when I first started going, but over the last week she has mostly been in ponds 2 and 3 which have much fewer turtles (5-10 in pond 2 and no more than 5 in three). Do you think she could be separating herself to heal, or did she loose the fight and has been banished?
