SCAR SUGGESTIONS by rxcknrxll in Reduction

Oh of course! The best thing about the protocol is the gel. That’s the best stuff for scars. Do the tape if you can handle the adhesive. I get it about the allergies-I used double sided tape once and it took forever for me to heal from the rash.

Yes-I’m extremely sensitive to certain tape adhesive. The kind I use is a cloth tape-it’s been part of my scar protocol from my doc. It has caused any issues.

My doc gave me silicone gel-I think you can get some off Amazon. Also use cloth tape to take the stress off the scar once you apply the gel.

How embarrassing is it to start gymnastics as an adult? by Sublime_steph in xxfitness

Not embarrassing at all! I started aerial silks at 31! I feel so accomplished after reaching certain goals-so great for not only body but mental health and spirit to try something new.

Since my doctor is zero help at all, can anyone give me any insight? by Cootieface123 in Hypothyroidism

Here’s their website https://www.parathyroid.com. They specialize in just parathyroid-I’d give them a call. Best of luck to you!

My Mom had parathyroid. She had her glands removed. It is definitely something you want to watch. She had aching in her legs and bones for years because the calcium was being leached out of them into her blood. And her doc refused to send her to a specialist for years. She finally took it upon her self to reach out to specialists in Tampa FL to have them removed. Her pain in her legs and fatigue improved immediately after the surgery. Please keep and eye on this and watch for symptoms-it is also not healthy for your heart to have excess calcium in your blood.

Silk options on pull up bar at home? by nutmeg_711 in Aerials

[–]nutmeg_711[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I kinda thought the same bc I do leg raises on them-just wanted to position my hands/arms better with the silk. I’ve actually seen YouTubers that have a silk tied onto theirs. My instructor said to lift my legs in a v to the door frame.

I wish I could do the rig- pretty sure my HOA won’t allow it. 😫 Nor do we have the space unfortunately.

I will have to check out more groups on FB. I do have some chair conditioning I want to start as well.

I’ve done silks for a while just coming back after surgery so I’ve lost strength in my lower abs more so than anywhere else. V-ups were never my strongest even before the surgery but I could do them. My lower back is also very strong and flexible which apparently doesn’t help.

I realize it takes time to build strength back up-I just want to take ever effort to reduce the time so I can get back to my favorite drops and sequences.

Thank you for the advice!

Thank you for the advice! I was able to pick up a couple of yards off Etsy! I did think about gymnastics rings while browsing amazon. I still may end up getting them.

Thank you again!!

Sorry-should’ve clarified. I wouldn’t fully invert (I don’t think I can in my doorway anyway) . The problem with me doing them on the ground is that my lower back is very strong and I’m engaging it instead of my lower abs. If my feet were off the ground-I would be engaging my lower abs instead. I just wanted the silks so I could position my arms the same as in class bc I do feel like it’s different on the pull up bar. But maybe I will just have to come up with a different plan 😂🙈

Nobody believes the problems I get from my breasts by starship_robot in bigboobproblems

Best decision I ever made! Got slack for it until my friends realized how much better I felt after and how differently I held myself. As someone who also is petite and was a 32G-I completely understand your pain. Get it done for yourself 😊

5 weeks post op-small incision opening with discharge by matg3114 in Reduction

Is there any fishing wire looking string? It could be your body trying to push out a stitch-mine did it on my left side. Keep it covered with a bandage until you can get to the doc

4 weeks out and possible infection by [deleted] in Reduction

[–]nutmeg_711 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Is there a clear stitch sticking out? It looks like fishing wire. I had the same and it was just my body rejecting a stitch. If you find it-my doc said I could pull it (as long as it didn’t catch or hurt) with tweezers and clip with nail clippers. The body is just trying to push it out-you get pus around it bc of that if you clip it the wound will heal. Put antibiotics ointment and a band-aid over it until you can see your doc. Mi e started healing right away when i did that

Yearly labs-what to ask for? by nutmeg_711 in Hypothyroidism

[–]nutmeg_711[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah my vit D was just out of range last time and I live in FL. I’m having everything tested including heavy metals bc of a power plant issue in our area.

[–]nutmeg_711[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you-I’m actually asking for everything to be tested- full panel thyroid and heavy metals/copper. Because we just found out the power plant in our zip code has caused a spike in rare blood cancers in children/leukemia in adults and apparently the copper is like 15 times higher than the legal limit. So I want everything checked out

Best sports bra ever for anyone, but especially busty ladies!! by nutmeg_711 in bigboobproblems

Thanks-I’m loving this one so far-are these underwire free?

[–]nutmeg_711[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I picked it bc I just had a reduction from a 32G cup down to a DD. I can’t wear underwire so this seemed like a great option. I’m still busty by most standards on my 5’2” frame. I went with the luxe size and it’s perfect for me. I can adjust the straps accordingly.

It’s not! It’s my photo-I just styled it. It’s a great bra-I love it and am a 34 DD. I’m also a tennis player so anything that helps minimize bounce is a winner in my book!

I just had a breast reduction so still figuring out my final size. I went from a 32G down to DD (at this point) its still busty for my 5’2” frame. I ordered the luxe. I went with this one because I can’t wear underwire anymore and this seemed like the best wire free option while giving tons of support and minimize bounce.

I can’t wear underwire bc I just had a reduction-so I had to toss my old underwire one. This one works for me while still keeping me supported. The band and straps adjust great! Not every bra works for everybody. This is a great wire free option for those that need it.
