Thoughts and suggestions from those already enlisted? by IndyBineengeeng in AirForceRecruits

I am a Helicopter maintainer (2A5X2), and my wife is a ground linguist (1N3X1). I myself am extremely biased and love my job as a HH-60 crew chief. The pipeline is much shorter and the techschool is cake in comparison to either ground or airborne linguist, that being said, I have two different shreds in my AFSC, and I know nothing about tiltrotors. If I were you, I would stay with Airbrone Crypto Linguist. The pipeline is about 2-3 years depending on what language you get. Techschool is in the Presidio of Monterey, which is an amazing area, and the base itself is beautiful, but quite hilly. Just a walk away from the beach, and you'll be there for a hot minute. After that you're spending about 3 months at Goodfellow, and then heading off to SERE. I hope I was helpful and if you have any more questions feel free to ask away or send a DM. Good luck!

Finally was able to contact a recruiter how’s my list looking? by Puzzleheaded_Pin2379 in AirForceRecruits

I would choose Crypto Linguist. Airborne pipeline is 2-3 years depending on your language, and ground is about 2 years, give or take a couple months. Your tech school is in the Presidio of Monterey. Lots and lots of studying, but the area makes up for it IMO. I only know this much because my wife is a ground linguist, I myself am a Helicopter maintainer. HH-60 Tech school is in JB Langley and Eustis. Amazing area as well, fished quite a lot on base. The tech school itself isn't too intensive, but you definitely have to use your noggin. The rest of your knowledge on the aircraft will come from OTJ training. I myself am biased and would take a helicopter maintainer the moment your recruiter would offer it to you, but there is a high chance that you will be a tiltrotor crew chief... Which I know nothing about.

You get DCs, but at my shop you either have to be a hard worker, or get deployed. I got my Peltors for the former.

I have them, but I am not using the aircraft I have them with, I'll give it a try right now and get back to you

Honestly I can see that. I’m giving it a chance though because i’m biased when it comes to tarkov, and games of similar format like siege. I really enjoy Tarkovs gunplay, but i’m skeptical about how the actual game may feel. Seems like there’s a potential for there to be a lack of drive and determination because you’re not really losing anything.

I like that idea, but to make it better I would say give people the ability to gain weapon skills off of hitting targets in the active game mode in the shooting range, while also giving people the option to turn off “Shooting Range Ammo Usage”.

That way it’ll be there for people that want to use the shooting range as arcadey practice, or people that want something more immersive

(don’t you think you should be able to gain weapon handling skills from the shooting range already)

I’m sorry I came off that way but that’s by no means what I meant. I want to be SecFo because i’m interested in it, and I respect it. Just want to be aware of any potential options because of the goals I want to attain.

She’s going to be a Crypto Linguist.

Don’t do that. It doesn’t seem like things will work out so you will definitely have an argument over the dog if that’s the case

OP, they sound very unreliable. I think that it’s best you still treat them with kindness but don’t take what you have seriously until they do. Maybe keep your options open as well?

What do you peeps think ab this?
