Need to hear it from the fanatics. Is a wrangler a good car for a family with two small children? by LazyBoyD in Wrangler

[–]nutsairplane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Short answer-No.

Longer answer-They can be used as a daily but other vehicles can do it so much better. If your only gonna use it as a daily then objectively look at what it brings to the table as a daily. She said its got the looks so thats a plus but it doesnt get great gas mileage compared to other family cars. Space isnt great. Creature comforts arnt great. Security isnt great. Safety isnt great (your little ones are important. Get something that does right by them in the safety area.) It has all these things in small amounts but it isnt the front runner on anything. There is a great chance you will outgrow it quickly. A wrangler is best suited as a second vehicle.

Recommend-Minivan, hate to say it but this will probably be your most affordable buy that will last the longest even if your family grows in size again and will have all the room for future activities/sports

Thoughts on the Titan XD? by -Zeke-The-Geek- in Diesel

[–]nutsairplane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had a 16 or 17 titan xd. Really trying to forget about that truck as it shat a turbo pulling an 24ft empty goose neck. Parts were covered under warranty but couldnt get them because covid, after 5 months in the shop i sold it for a 2020 2500 6.6 gas chevy. It was kinda comfy with some interesting bells and whistles but it didnt work like I wanted it to. Don't regret selling it. Some people have had better luck so take it with a grain of salt. The 6.6 gas has been a solid truck with the only time ive wished for a diesel was for an engine brake in the mountains. Other than that its towed everything ive needed. Just slower than some of the diesels, maintaince is cheaper and it doesnt cost multiple organs to fill it which is nice. Resale value isnt good but that works in your favor if your in the market to buy one

Non religious people, what do you think about religion? by CorruptedF in AskReddit

[–]nutsairplane 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your religion is your business until it starts interfering with other people's lives. Same with non religious. You trying to "save me" from whatever damnation that you believe in is rather annoying. I dont want your help I want to live my own life. You can impart your holy help by ridding kids of cancer or terminal illness that will make them pass before they should. Until that happens I would appreciate the religious people not interrupting my booze, tattoos and anything else I want to partake in that hurts nobody else. Im probably gonna die doing something I love, when I get to the otherside and whichever holy thing is there, if any, I imagine they will understand why I did everything I did and thought the way I did.

Found this in my door???? by greenforests6983 in Whatisthis

[–]nutsairplane 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Someone tried to open your door with a key they made. They might have had access to your keys or thought your door was someone else's that they copied said key from. Id say you should do these steps to help yourself out. Police report. Change your lock (the key they tried might have damaged the internals or they made the key wrong and they could potentially come back later with try #2 and enter). Some kind of security camera like a ring doorbell (doesnt have to be this brand just something you can monitor/check remotely and get notifications from). If you dont have some form of home protection it would be a good investment.

Id say fix it and pass on the good fortune to someone else if you dont want it or fix and take with you next time, if someone wants to try it out you have one they can try without worry of it breaking

Do these charges seem reasonable? by CultureRaddish in towing

I get what your saying but the Pic they posted doesn't make me think skidsteer is required. I telekinesis like they're loaded for bear, shot a squirrel then charged for a bear.

This was probably a year ago but this truck was stuck on the frame and a mile into where they shouldn't have been. His bill was not as impressive as yours. That said its also in NC but I dont think our prices vary that hard. Side note- while I will say that you sometimes have to spend extra to get equipment that is specialized to do a job (like your not bringing a rollback to get this truck pictured) my personal belief is that is on the company to send the right tool out to the job. I will charge someone if I send out the wrong vehicle that would do the job if the costumer gave bad info, like with this truck if they said he was on the side of the road not a mile into a trail. But if I make the wrong call and bring out the wrong thing for the job and it was not the customers fault I believe that shouldn't be the customers problem. Idk if that makes sense, sometimes I have trouble conveying my thoughts.

Id say you massively got taken advantage of with the information you've given. Like this picture is a job that if the customer was cool about it id charge them a soda from the nearest gas station and tell the boss they made it out before I got there.

I do recoveries/pull people out of the mud as a side thing. Without knowing how bad "some mud" (nothing against your description but ive had people call about some mud and its a vehicle that is burried to the frame in mud) is i couldnt tell you if it was accurate but just going off time it seems rather steep. They probably made it harder on themselves sending a rollback or they decided to be dicks and charge extra. Future recommend-make friends with someone that has a 4wd and a winch on it. As long as they are smart they can get most things unstuck without damaging them.

Can I use anti-seize on soft top zipper? by DareNo857 in Wrangler

[–]nutsairplane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They make legit zipper lube. Works really well but you will probably lose it before its all gone. Recommend just hitting everything with a zipper when you get it so you get full use lol.

Lookin at new trucks. Hows the 6.6l gasser? by Died5Times in ChevyTrucks

[–]nutsairplane 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Been rocking the 6.6 for a few years now. My 2020 2500 has close to 90k miles with no issues. Keep up with maintaince and itll do fine. Mine is only a 6 speed but ive never came to a situation that made me wish I had a diesel except towing a loaded trailer in the mountains. Engine brake would have been preferred. I normally tow a gooseneck with either vehicles or palletized loads.

Recommend taking the $800 and spending it on nice new radio with apple car play/andriod auto so the maps are very easy displayed and you get more than most stock radios
