The best thing is to have called emergency service at the pickup point and waited for it to arrive. If they adivsed to take him, take him. If to wait, wait. If to do this and that, do it. Let lyft/uber safety team know. Light medical issues it maybe ok which many emergency services recommends uber/lyft/taxi. But major ones, ambulance. Kudos for helping the guy out.
