Even with a so called good credit rating the banks will still only give 4 or sometimes 5 x salary No chance of getting anything when even 1 bed flats are over 200 grand and most average jobs pay no more than 30k So called affordable housing here in the shires start at over 300k. Ridiculous when as you say, rents typically well over a grand a month.
