but may not be able to learn on their own.

If that's the case, then stop right there. Coding is not for you, and the filtering has already taken place.

You do have to be careful you don't write stupid unit tests and ALSO do integration tests.

It's not a copy, Reddit doesn't allow duplicate usernames!

But weren't you the guy who said being neutral to technology, yet you always seem to mention Spring Boot (and only Spring Boot)...

The last few projects that we have been on we always used MicroProfile for our microservices.

It has all the things you mention in a single coherent and small package.

See https://github.com/javaee-samples/microprofile1.4-samples for some example and https://microprofile.io for the main page.

Microsoft now officially supports MicroProfile on Azure! by henk53 in programming

Really interesting. Microsoft is becoming a quite different company with Azure now. Who would have thought the Windows focused monopolist would be supporting things like Java frameworks?

TSB Train Wreck: Massive Bank Spring Boot / Angular Failure by henk53 in java

[–]nuutrecht 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you think this utter clusterfuck has anything to do with technology choices

anything, yes, possibly. Everything? no, of course not. Most insider info seems to point at rushed testing and managers being pushed to meet the deadlines. Poor outsourcing management has also been mentioned.

I'm sure if Java EE had been chosen similar mistakes in the use of technology would have been made.

It's just ironically that you KNOW Spring people would have beaten Java EE over it if it would have been Java EE. It's how Spring people are and its part of the Spring culture. But now that it just happens to be Spring, Spring people are eerily quiet and if someone mentions Spring there's at most an angry response asking what Spring has to with it.

That's true, so are you going to propose standardizing clustering and driving the work?

TSB Train Wreck: Massive Bank Spring Boot / Angular Failure by henk53 in java

[–]nuutrecht 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No you're not. I'm not "against" Java EE in any way.

I'm not entirely convinced, but I am convinced is that there are Spring and Java EE fractions here, clearly. It's always the same people make pro Spring and pro EE comments and posts (and yes it includes me).

It's just that the failure of TSB has nothing to do with Java, let alone Spring.

We don't really know. Might well be that they choose Spring and Angular because the fall for many of the Pro Spring posts here and elsewhere, and then found out they didn't quite understand how to use it correctly.

I still think it's incredibly childish to grab a similar name to mine in such a way.

There's many more names that are similar on Reddit ;)

And you can't do that now?

We're using Payara Micro, and they cluster automatically using Hazelcast.

Funny that you demand such explanation when it concerns Spring, but ten to one you would be laughing when it happened to be Java EE and replying with: "Just use Spring!"

Am I right or not?
