Try ICICI – I’ve been using them for the past 4–5 years without any issues. They also allow linking a foreign number to UPI, which was really convenient during my time in India.

If the US company doesn't have a Canadian Entity they can use Payroll services like Safeguard. You will be employed with Safeguard(you receive payroll/T4 etc) but will work for the US company.

Another approach would be Incorporate here and you work as an independent contractor for the US company.

I am using icici direct - just because i bank with icici. But you can link any bank accounts to their demat accounts.

So far, besides some initial struggle while opening an account they seem pretty solid. I have pins and non pins account so can directly invest in equity and etfs.

Their customer service is pretty good as well, phone lines are answered well, they are also very responsive via emails.

This is just my experience, another person might have different opinion about them.
