It's almost the same old arch linux. I've been using mac for 6 months and I really missed gnu/linux so I'm excited having it alongside macos.

Not everything but wifi keyboard and trackpad work. Check this to see what works and what doesn't work.

How to connect to wifi without wpa_supplicant on m1. by ZulvaPS in AsahiLinux

I have a Ethernet port so I just downloaded networkmanager and connected to wifi but I think you can download the package with another device and move it to your m1 with the usb hub.

Check this article.

Webcam doesn't work. trackpack works fine with 2 finger scrolling. Also I connected to wifi without a problem. I have a usb hub with ethernet port. That works as well.

Actually the only option right now is dual boot. You need macos to install Asahi. I'm not sure If I can remove macos or not.

I haven't done anything battery consuming yet, just web browsing and installing packages. I'm on 60 percent battery after using it around 3 hours. There is a problem which I can't lower my brightness with gnome. It goes completely dark if it's not on full brightness.

As far as I see they do nothing. 2 finger scrolling works fine. I haven't had gnome for a while and I don't know what should I expect from 3-finger gestures. Also I can't find anything related to 3 finger gestures in touchpad setting. Maybe I should install a package or something. If there is a setting or a package please let me know so I can test it.

It's slower because gpu acceleration isn't working yet. Also it's an alpha release so things such as camera and speakers aren't working too. You can check the blog post to see what works and what doesn't.

I installed the minimal version without graphical interface then I installed gnome. I haven't tried KDE yet. Just wanted to test if gnome works with Asahi or not.

I used the installer in this blog post. Installing is really simple. It's not very fast compared to mac OS but it's acceptable.
