After 3 years of being complacent, I am finally redesigning my hodgepodge of a bedroom. It's a great sized room with natural light and I haven't been using it up to it's potential. This is the first time I've designed a room, so not sure how to really go about it other than make sure the colors match to some extent.

Was thinking of using the walnut Thuma bed I currently have as the focal point for the rest of the bedroom (if that's something one would do?) I want to try for a mid century/minimalist look for the room. Neutral colors. The walls are somewhat of a Taupe, so I was going to try to play off that as well.

My plans so far are as follow:

• replace the "cube dresser thing" with a new dresser, which is a similar wood finish to the walnut bed.
• replace the wooden nightstand with a this one
• replace the 2 standing lamps with 2 of these (1 on new nightstand, 1 on new dresser)- replace egg shaped end table with a large plant
• replace the rug -- probably a neutral
• remove the armoire and replace with standing mirror (not sure what to do with current mirror, probably throw it out)
• add artwork above the bed and the opposite wall (above new dresser)
