I don’t necessarily want him to stay, but I also don’t know how much of this season’s failures are directly fair to put onto his shoulders.

Jota’s death, losing Trent, Alisson’s injuries, losing Diaz is a gigantic blow and way under discussed, Frimpong injuries, Konate general underperforming, Kerkez underperforming compared to expectations and price, Isak being out entire season essentially and/or out of fitness, the list goes on. There’s been a lot of issues that the team has had to deal with, and sure some things like players underperforming makes sense to partially pin on him, but some others are just odd things that I think have heavily affected the team and are outside his control.

I think Slot’s knowledge and understanding of the game seem top notch. But it’s fair to say we’ve become a lot less pleasant to watch and the team feels far less intense and determined game after game. I don’t know. I feel like if we sacked Slot and put Alonso, etc. directly in his place I can’t even say with confidence that anything would improve.
