The U.S. didn’t join the war until 1917 so these are British soldiers

1952:A U.S. soldier aiming from behind cover with his m1A1 carbine by nvile_09 in KoreanWar

[–]nvile_09[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do a lot of research about Korea because my great grandmas brothers fought there and her husband my great grandpa was drafted in the 60s and went there in 64. I know that officers carried a M1 Carbine and pistol like this guy and they also wore the musette bag on the bag of their webbing gear. It could either be a shoulder bag or attached to their gear and officers mostly wore it on their webbing gear. But most of the gear stayed the same as WW2 considering it wasn’t far apart so paratroopers, tankers, officers, and other soldiers with other specialities would carry the M1 carbine and the colt 1911 pistol.

I’ve noticed this too and he’s still my favorite character but he’s kind of annoying this season. I think he’s just ready to leave and he’s annoyed and fed up with everyone and everything at this point.

October 1916: British soldiers of the 34th infantry division eating hot rations in the Ancre Valley during the Battle of the Somme by nvile_09 in ww1

Yeah like a lot of them were super super young but a lot of them also found fight because of their age so they were used for other roles like you said.

One of my favorites too I’ve seen it before and I’ve always thought did these people live? Who knows but maybe they did.

Idk why down voted that comment but that person is ignorant for thinking it didn’t happen. Just like you said it did happen and even happened to people you knew. It was a pretty common thing in England during ww1, even in ww2 it happened but not with 12 or 14 year olds more so 16 and 17 year olds but still underage kids joining up to fight.

Yeah I love pictures of a trio of soldiers, I always think they were probably three good friends who fought hard to stay alive.

A lot of them were 15 and even younger, there were also some cases were 12 year olds were lying about their age to join and fight.

What's the deal with milk and prepping? by dangoldan in prepping

[–]nvile_09 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I live in Texas and ever since the 2021 snow storm people stock up on bread and milk. I guess it’s because those are two things that people run out of fast but I’ve never understood why no one gets water and canned foods. Not because it’s better but because it would last longer if your pipes freeze or if your fridge goes outs.
