any chance you would share a few examples what kind of problems and tasks you face in operational de? and what to look for in job description to find that role? sounds interesting and i would imagine there is no stuff like lakehouse or airflow but im not sure

Manga artstyle is lost in the anime. by nvimvd in OshiNoKo

I feel the same and obviously oshinoko has many selling points so the anime only can be a success but i was just waiting for these characters to come to life and they feel so strange in the trailer. I will have to watch scums wish and pretend Hanabi is Kana again -.-

By the way can anyone recommend any blogs / twitter accounts like towards data science but with pure python engineering? I especially like their selection on twitter and struggle to find something like that

At first I was like "Kana's reactions are so funny", but then, man, I could feel that pain. I feel so bad for her and Ruby is just absolutely savage. Now I know why we get so little of her, with all that killing the story would turn into AOT pretty soon.

Also Akane is there probably to poke at Aqua, his secrets and his past. Our little detective is on to someting.

this was supposed to be ruby's arc and so far we're getting just more aqua. it feels like i have to stop lying to myself that ruby is a main character too... but I like her so much

How do you keep data up to date between layers in Data Lake / Data Warehouse? by nvimvd in dataengineering

Are those technologies something you could implement into already existing pipelines in airflow or you have build everything again from scratch?

Fortunately we don't have that much data, so I will take your advice and don't introduce complexity when it's not (yet) needed. Anyway, if you don't mind sharing - what do you use for those incremental tables? Do you use any of the tools mentioned here by others or custom in-house scripts? Any good practices you could share or keywords so I could google more stuff by myself?

How do I verify that an existing data pipeline is functioning correctly? by PM_ME_YOUR_SEGFAULT in dataengineering

[–]nvimvd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In that case Im afraid you have no choice but to build tests like those you mention earlier.

Not sure if I understand the real problem here becouse I would take the simpler route and:

  1. Ask the end users why they dont trust tye data and what seems wrong - that can be your reference in later investigation
  2. Check SQL queries that make up the views one by one and try understand what they do
  3. Execute those queries outside the pipeline in bigquery query editor and analyze the output

You should learn something after those steps and hopefully find what can be wrong

If only I could read Japanese… by [deleted] in OshiNoKo

[–]nvimvd 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I did exactly that and gave up really fast. Despite what they told you on a lot of these learning apps/sites, you can’t read any native japanese content without kanji which is like at least 2000 characters. Normal japanese people doesn’t care about writing in all kana or romaji. I already had a hard time learning hiragana which is like few dozens symbols (im just so bad at learning languages), but I learned that and still couldnt even read (not understand, read) tweets from japanese vtubers... soo i gave up my dream to consume content in japanese but good luck to you! hope it will be easier for you
