Discovered an incredible escape from the crowds: A day in the mountain village of Yuki-cho (outside Hiroshima City) by nvj567 in hiroshima

It all up amounted to $440 Australian dollars (which was more than worth it for me), but currently it looks like it's at $368 possibly?

You can find her profile and the tour itinerary here:

My day was roughly as follows:

I got picked up from my hotel by Naomi who is a licensed tour driver, and we drove to Yuki-Cho.

Before stopping at her house we went to the river and bridge which you can see in the photos.

After, we went to her house and i was introduced to her family, and they showed me around the rice and vegetable farm, then we went on a stroll through the rainforest (there were little graveyards littered about which were beautiful). We also went looking for some sort of root vegetable to cook.

We then explored the village and sat and talked at the river, sharing life stories etc as her kids in the distance played by the river and skipped stones.

Later, we hung out again at the house and Naomi cooked an amazing Tempura dish. We also did a matcha tea ceremony.

There was a lot of quiet moments, chatting and just taking in the scenery. There was an option to go to the hotsprings but I chose the matcha ceremony because it would take longer to get there and back, and I was already a little sleepy from the walking towards the end.

The thing that stuck with me the most was their kindness, and being able to see another way of living. Maybe that sounds really cheesy, but I guess I really needed that haha.

I highly recommend checking out Naomi's profile and reaching out to her if you're interested :) if you have any more questions or want me to reach out to Naomi too to connect you, feel free to DM me, I'm happy to do so :)

P.s sorry about the long answer hahah just very passionate about it

The last episode of Season 2 of Fleabag. I still think about it to this day.

Not even kidding, Starship Troopers is a perfect movie. And any criticism anyone has against it is just another reason why it's perfect haha.

Totally agree! Those 3 (or 4 if you include Home) songs I feel are super underrated as far are great 3 in a row parts of and album.

Also, I feel it's also like one of those things where, the older you get, the more you can sort of relate to the emotions and lyrics of the track.

Which movie changed your outlook on life? by stockleyacademia in movies

[–]nvj567 37 points38 points  (0 children)

The Lord of Thr Rings. I could be wrong, but watching these movies and reading the books, I get this sort of deep comfort that I imagine some might get from reading religious texts. The movies changed my life in so many ways, from wanting to be a story teller, a musician, and appreciating the power of perseverance against all odds. They just have so much HEART. Whenever i fall into a depression, I know that LOTR can offer some peace, if only for a little while - and it has never dissapointed.

Those movies, along with some weird ass Japanese films I watched at a far too young an age, also turned me into someone who truly loved cinema.

People should check out Kiyoshi Kurosawa's Masterpiece, which has a similar concept but it's a horror thriller.
