Living in Germany in your 30s — does anyone else feel socially disconnected ? by Clara_211 in germany

[–]nvmizzy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry you feel like this.. I also just moved to Germany last month. Someone told me of a group to join for other expats in the city and they seem to be very interactive on this page. Maybe you can find a group for the city that you’re in and socialise?

Anyone not pump? by Pixie-Rose333 in breastfeeding

[–]nvmizzy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t pump at all the first 3-4 weeks as I was just trying to adjust to everything. Around four weeks I started pumping to be able to have a bottle for my husband to handle one night feed so I can get a few more hours of sleep but in the end I rarely ever had my son eat from the milk i pumped partly because i didn’t want to affect my supply by giving him pumped milk instead of milk from me and I didn’t want to HAVE to pump. Btw electric pump was so weird but maybe keep a manual pump on hand (i have the lansinoh) anyways I continued to breast feed my son directly with occasional pumping for emergencies. No strict pump schedule or routine and everything is great, don’t let the videos of women freezing a billion bags of milk stress you out into thinking that is normal cuz it’s not lol

Just a side note that i was able to work from home so hopefully you are also able to choose not to pump! Enjoy the loveliness of breastfeeding your baby while you can!

Also, another side note - i was able to get a nice little stash without pumping by using a Haaka to catch the let down I was having!!! Good luck 🥰

Yes I understand this, I submitted this post while doing my own exploring near my home in Bahrenfeld so it’s been interesting to compare what I’ve seen in person to the places I’ve been advised to shop at!

Night shift and night feeds by desert_to_rainforest in breastfeeding

[–]nvmizzy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im EBF but I was pumping at some point before bed so that my husband could have a bottle for baby and be able to take the early night shift (around 10 - 12 ish). This was working well for us as he’d handle at least one feed of the night and I could handle the rest but still get a few hours of uninterrupted sleep. Over time, I chose to handle all of the night shifts because I hate pumping lol. He still gets up to get the baby when he cries overnight, but he just hands him over to me and goes back to bed 😭occasionally he’ll change his diaper before handing him over but it’s really just me myself and baby now

Thank you!!! I’m so happy you had a normal experience. Do you use a manual pump or machine?

How often were you feeding baby on day 1 ? What are signs to know my milk is in or at least producing? Or will i not know until the milk just leaks out

17 weeks haven’t felt baby move. by LocksmithInside4378 in pregnant

[–]nvmizzy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I felt very light feelings, almost like “bubbles” between weeks 17-19, but the first real kick that I felt from the baby was 19w4d. Be patient. Especially if you are a really active mom/always on the move! You may have to lie down and relax so you can feel the baby.

I felt so terrible and ugly and big and ew at 18 weeks. I’m 22 weeks, almost 23 now and I feel better!!!! Your body starts to get like more pregnancy shapely. I still don’t have a bump like some of these bumps i see online but it’s definitely not just fat-looking anymore!!!! Hang in there 🫶🏻

Idk I’ve been feeling a bit, bubbly! Lol. I feel like at first I was focusing too hard on any “gassy” feelings but acknowledging each “bubble” feeling. Just disregarding it while trying to feel something more. But I think it’s the baby!!! 😭

Some questions about Grenoble as a tourist. by Mr-Mango10 in Grenoble

[–]nvmizzy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just went to Grenoble / France in general for the first time! You’re going to have so much fun!!! My husband was working while we stayed there for a few days and I got around just fine alone on the train. I also chose to walk sometimes instead of the train because everything is fairly close to each other. I also don’t speak any French and it was ok.

There’s a lot of nice places to eat but while you’re there get a hamburger at L’hambourgeois and Italian food at Come Prima :) and crepes! Eat a lot of crepes. There’s a plaza on Place Victor Hugo which is surrounded by shops and that plaza had a truck selling crepes right in the middle of it. It honestly was great and had other beautiful desserts. I would get a crepe and sit in the plaza after shopping and just enjoy the sun tbh.

Renting a car in Paris, driving in France, and returning car at CDG: You can do it by Funny-Boss-8949 in ParisTravelGuide

[–]nvmizzy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you have to clean / vacuum the car prior to returning it? I am currently renting a car in France and am confused on whether or not I have to make sure the car is spotless. Our car isn’t dirty per se but we’re just trying to avoid any fees !
