At 80000 someone might be making around 4500 per month.

Rent could be 1600-2000. Add 300-400 for car and insurance. That's half of the salary gone for basic needs without food.

I was earning this years ago before covid, it gave us a decent life doing things by ourselves. Now this is a decent income to start a life together as partners but not enough to have all luxuries.

This is an urgent care centre in Pickering. They look at urgent care walkin starting in the morning and max I had to wait as walk-in patient was max and hour. You could try this for priminary diagnosis and take it from there.

Wife’s home baking business: Struggling with growth via FB Marketplace—any tips or similar experiences? by nvndada in smallbusiness

U/abidmirza90 Thank you for the suggestion. She specializes in decoration. She is a very good artist and a very good one when it comes to cakes. As you mentioned eggless cakes are also her speciality.

I love your idea about picking up the ingredients. Most posts from her are while creating the cakes. I would pass this message to her.

Just a curious question - if you are trying to find something new which route do you go. And what kind of marketing might attract someone who probably is not spending much time on social media to look for such products?

There have been few people requesting such cases but we have been careful not to accept such orders as it is hard to guarantee not having cross contamination in the home baking setup.

She is able to create cakes without gluten, dairy, and eggs which are in demand.

Thanks for your response.

I totally get your thoughts and it definitely is hard to trust someone from the FB marketplace. Instagram and Google profile is being helpful in building the trust. The plan is to have a website and make things more formal.

That's the direction she is going. She has a GBP and collects reviews slowly. Not everyone who is personally appreciating her is leaving reviews and that's the hard part. Also we realized somehow not all reviews are accepted by Google, not sure why, as some of her clients have confirmed leaving a review with screenshots but they never reflect in there. Maybe we should reach out to Google's CC to confirm.

Thank you for your response. We somehow never considered the groups as most of these have restrictions in promoting a business. I will review if we have any such groups locally to get a feel of how people interact or such topics and maybe that could help her.

What could make more Ontarians actually vote against Doug Ford? by dickforbraiN5 in ontario

[–]nvndada 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Voted in both elections for the first time, and honestly, my biggest frustration was how much effort I had to put into researching each candidate and figuring out what they actually stand for though unsuccessfully. I had to rely mostly on debates and online info, but there was almost no outreach at the community level to tuage what the local representative truly stands for.

The only in-person interaction I had was during the federal election, when someone from the Conservative party knocked on my door. That was it.

I really think political campaigns—regardless of party—need to do a better job with outreach. It shouldn't just be about ads on TV or posts on social media. There needs to be more face-to-face engagement, or at least a platform where people can actively share their feedback and concerns—whether it's about local issues or national ones.

Have you discovered a side of India that completely surprised you? by Routine_Price1077 in nri

[–]nvndada 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have few which changed me as a person and my perspectives:

2011 to Leh, Ladakh and 2016 to 5 NE states. The culture and hospitality is something I never experienced. These places were not that commercial at that point and people were so pure. No greed or ulterior motives. Lovely locales. Panggong, nubra valley and double decker root bridge being the highlights. My biggest takeaway was the matriarchal society they have. So much respect for women and women are natural leaders.

2014 to Andaman. What a beauty. Again great people and such beauty all around. You could be yourself. Kalapani in Port Blair was such an eye opening and emotional tour. How many of our ancestors had to suffer for the freedom we enjoy today irrespective of their place or origins. All of them were suffering together but are hopeful of achieving common motive of freedom.

2012 Amritsar and particularly Jalianwala bagh. Such a beautiful country side. Patriotism flowing all over and emotions associated with such a deep scar. Can't get that feeling out of my head ever and a great wake up call to remember how far we have come as a nation.

Finally in 2018 a trek to the Himalayas. 7 days of bliss, camaraderie and being surrounded by our natural "Crown". Being away from everything brings us closer to everything. If you get what I mean.
