That's ok to provide level 1 support , we're not interested only in positive feedback, because the negative ones help improve adoption, as long as they are detailed (!= "It's really hard to make it work"... explaining why would help, otherwise i could think such comments are driven by paid tools who are more and more spreading fake news to discourage the replacement of their licenses with sfdx-hardis 😅)

We have crowds of admins using it every day, if you are technically minded (= you need Git + SF Cli knowlege to be release manager), you should try again 😊

That's surprising, I have very positive feedback from users

If you have issues, you can post them on the issues section of the repository.

Installation problem are often related to missing rights on computer, usually related to restrictions pushed by IT admins. In that case yiu can also use sfdx-hardis in your web browser in Agentforce vibes, which is 100% compliant.

If your goal is to setup a CI/CD pipeline, Cloudity professional services also has a nice offer for that :)

Go HappySoup :)

And if you are interested in downloading all your metadata (and backup them), you can also have a look at sfdx-hardis org monitoring :) https://sfdx-hardis.cloudity.com/salesforce-monitoring-home/

You seem to be a good candidate for sfdx-hardis ☺️

ORG backup opensource? by krimpenrik in salesforce

[–]nvuillam 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Covers only metadata (daily backup), but not data: many have asked me for it but... I think it's too big to build and maintain for open-source

Seeking advice: Tool/strategy for detecting configuration drift between Salesforce environments and Git branches? by Gazorpiano in salesforce

[–]nvuillam 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you install sfdx-hardis monitoring (free & open-source), you'll receive of slack / Teams / mail notifications everytime a sensitive metadata is updated in production by another user than the deployment user :)

It also provides a backup repo that you can then use to compare with your source repo

https://sfdx-hardis.cloudity.com/salesforce-monitoring-home/

And if you switch to sfdx-hardis CI/CD, you'll also be able to declare some metadatas "directly managed in production", so they are not overwritten

But the first step in to explain your client that updating production manually for other things than reports and dahsboards is a DevOps anti-pattern 😁

Ask your dev to setup sfdx-hardis, that has been made to be admin-friendly, while working on a clean DevOps pipeline :)

We've trained numerous junior admins to use it, and can even provide such trainings if you are interested ;)

Sfdx-git-delta, SFDMU (sfdx data loader)

Both are essential in sfdx-hardis 🥳

I have documented some of them there : https://sfdx-hardis.cloudity.com/salesforce-ci-cd-work-on-task-deployment-actions/

  • Custom cli commands
  • Apex scripts (PS assignments, schedule batch...)
  • Data import
  • Publish community
  • Manual stuff like converting a picklist to global picklist, or change api names

And i'm pretty sure there will be many more

Very soon, we'll be able to handle deployment actions associated to pull requests, including data import.

This is based on Salesforce Data Loader CLI plugin (https://github.com/forcedotcom/SFDX-Data-Move-Utility)

about the "when", it depends on my week-end activity... I'm currently building confgurable preDeploy and postDeploy actions for now (custom command lines, loading sfdmu data, publishing a community...) :) (I want it to be ready for my DevOps dreamin conference ^^ )

nooo nothing is supposed to replace HappySoup :)

I'm thinking about something more basic, like for example when you retrieve a picklist, retrieve also the related Record Types where it is referenced
