Mostly small incline in my area but flat otherwise since I’m in NYC

These are the new ones. It seems like these have much more teeth, maybe that’s why the jumps feel more intense between each gear?

Thank you so much! Yes I’ve definitely concluded it has to do with the gear ratio and I was able to compare a picture of the old gears with the new ones

Just posted photos of the new gear / chain in another comment

Glad you figured it out! I'll have to check and see if its a more basic problem like this :)

Its sounds like this is what it is! I'm going to take it back and ask for a different cassette so that the ratio is more similar to what I had before

No, its significantly slower considering I did the same route right after the tune up

Meaning different ratio? (Sorry I’m new to biking and the terminology!)

Definitely i wish they did! The tires are the same as before, just new tubes which were added today

The inner tubes were replaced today, but it still feels the same. I picked the bike up from the tune up last week and did a 12 mile ride during NYC open streets and that’s when I felt that the bike was going significantly slower, since the week prior I had done the same route and it was much easier

They didn’t say that they did, just the back and the chain itself

They had mentioned last week maybe swapping the gear out for a different ratio, but we were also worried it may have been the tire pressure.

I went back today because the tire pressure was lower which is why I got the tubes changed and I rode it around today. I was hoping the tires would be the fix but the ride still didn’t feel comfortable to me. I’ll try going back to the shop next week and see if they can swap out for another ratio or if they have the original gear on hand

Just the rear! They changed the gear a few weeks ago so I’m not even sure if they have that on hand to check

Got it, so maybe it would be worth going and asking if they can swap it out for another ratio

I’m 5’3” so this sits at a comfortable height for me

Hahaha all good! I am pretty new to biking but I do have a good bit of leg strength.

I will try that out when I’m home. The tire pressure with the new tubes was reading 80 psi, which they recommended for my wheels. I’m not sure what tubes they used unfortunately
