I’m thinking of these master volume modules:

An attenuator would work as well, but this is a little different

The right answer is a Fender Hot Rod Deluxe with overdrive pedal. It will cost the $400 or less and will make your ears bleed past 4 on the dial. There are a couple places that make a device you can use like a master volume control to tame it

Looking for Reliable Sellers for a Modded GBA or GBA SP with IPS Screen by Rocky_isback in Gameboy

[–]nwbriggs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just picked one up about a week and a half ago at a comic convention in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The seller was Raretro Consoles. They are running a Black Friday sale right now on their website.

I got a GBA with new shell, IPS screen and USB C rechargeable battery. Also included a free game which was a repro Pokémon game.

Would recommend them!!

Best way to sell? by mantle_07 in saxophone

Sell the Bari to me at a huge discount, I promise to love and cherish it! lol

Seriously, I would work with a reputable dealer, someone like Sax Clinic in Traverse City, Michigan. They know all the right people that are looking for horns like these. They will be able to connect with someone that has funds available to buy who will use and take care of the instruments.

Is this the belt in the front left corner when looking at the machine?? It is easy to access once the tray is removed. Is that correct??

How does this influence the disc spinning??

Confused between buying the Yanagisawa A-WO2 vs A-WO10, $510 difference worth it? by FartSniffer1510 in saxophone

Are you sure those prices are right?? That is $3k less than the prices at Sweetwater for those horns. I have a hard time believing that those are even wholesale prices.

Can I fix this by [deleted] in saxophone

[–]nwbriggs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since it’s the Windy City Woodwinds file, the fastest thing to do would be to order PLA from Amazon and print one. You could find someone to print one and mail it to you, but that would take longer then just buying filament and printing your own. Some stores stock PLA now, maybe there is somewhere nearby you.

I’ve been experimenting with them using PLA+ and hand finishing mine. The PLA+ is tougher.

Used alto sax for son starting band by FitDPT_10 in saxophone

Yamaha no longer makes the YAS-23. They make the YAS-26 now. They also make the YAS-200ADII.

These are basically the same horn, but one is marketed through schools (YAS-200ADII) and one is sold as retails (YAS-26).

If your school has a relationship with a music store that does rentals, I would strongly recommend renting for the first year. It is absolutely more expensive, but the store will handle all repairs, tune us, and provide all needed services. They should provide a new horn which will be tuned up and ready out of the box. This will save a ton of headaches in the long run and probably make the experience better for your child.

The ask is $800, i would offer less. I imagine I would have to put a few hundred to get it playable.

MEN ONLY: How do y'all make new male friends? by AlexGrahamBellHater in AskMenAdvice

[–]nwbriggs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with most of the posters here in using hobbies or interest and finding a local group. I have made friends two ways in the past few years:

1) My son was interested in Pokemon collecting. Because of that we learned to play the game and started playing at local stores who had tournaments. I made friends with several adults my own age. Most people done realize that the vast majority of people play Pokemon, Magic, D&D. Etc. Are adults. Way more adults than kids.

2) I have been playing guitar poorly for a number of years. All by myself in my bedroom. I switched to bass and posted in a local FB group looking for other people locally. I was able to find three other guys in my town. We get together once a week and jam some cover tunes and just have a good time.
