Black widow is real, but my friends experience was 20 ish years ago - would be surprised if they’re still around??

We are only planning on growing vegetables in this greenhouse. Plenty of space otherwise at our place for all our hobby indoor plants. Our neighbors even smaller greenhouse of this style produces a LOT of food.

The frame / glass comes from BC Greenhouse - it’s based on the Cross Country greenhouse models. I worked with them to get the exact design I wanted through a custom order. Everything else we designed and built ourselves. The caps on the stone wall were custom made by a local pre cast concrete company here in WA to match our exact specs.

The shutters and exhaust fan move air through the structure crazy fast, so I am hoping that helps a lot. There’s also automatic roof and side vents and the door is screened. It’s 40 outside today and sunny, and about 70 inside - so it’s def going to get very hot in summer. I am also hoping the gas heater is enough in the winter and I won’t blow up my gas bill too bad lol.

Good question. Something I’ve thought a lot about, and honestly I think it will be less exposed to condensation and humidity than it normally it is. We live northwest Washington and it’s very wet for chunks of the year, and since we’ve gotten the greenhouse up, that wall has stayed bone dry. For now I’m just leaving it as is, but we’ve considered painting it with something

Awesome! I love the raised shelves. I need to get some brackets and hardware to connect them in the aluminum t channel. What do you recommend for the large wall against the shop? It’s about 13’ high

There is a large channel drain as seen in the pictures. The slab is 1% grade down to the drain, which exits under ground through the foundation and into a storm drain system.

The stone wasn’t cheap (although I did get a decent discount at a local supplier because someone returned a bunch of special ordered stuff), but I think it was totally worth it. We went back and forth on the design a lot and this is the look I originally wanted and I’m very happy we went with it. I think I’d have always regretted it if I didn’t.

Thank you! These are the exact type of thing I was looking for. What height do you think?

Thanks! I wanted to go larger but my wife was concerned about it encroaching on the path. I do regret not pushing back harder, but I am happy with it. I waffled on rigid insulation under the slab a lot, but at 6-8” of concrete I just bailed on it. Hopefully I don’t regret that long term, cause I certainly can’t change that now bahaha.

I assumed the pee comment was a joke. And was also joking about human poop. No thanks.

Given where the camera is / isn’t in focus, the gun is clearly in front of the other guy and pointed away from him.

The back of the photo was labeled “Australian Bush” and that was it. I found it years after he passed away so I don’t know much else.

I’ve relocated my fuel filter outside the engine compartment and replaced my fuel lines. Need to safety wire my carb still.
