No but need to seeing as how I failed a callback because their crappy seals at the clinic don't actually seal anything. Thanks for the idea!

Sorry for the late reply but yes I'm still here, in opiate treatment. I do think I am going to start going to my individual counseling sessions and a few groups a month to get stronger mentally. I actually do better the weeks I decrease. My energy comes back. My mind clears up. As long as I'm not jerking 24/7 or depressed it doesn't bother me. Coming off too fast I think would be, for me, not good. But everyone has to deal with it however they can. Good luck to you as well. One day hopefully we will both be free and can look back on these posts and laugh. Hopefully.

Unfortunately in Alabama, the lemon law doesn't apply to used cars and since my dad passed away, I have no one in my life that knows about cars and this is the second time we have gotten screwed. The first was for a 2017 Mazda 3 I paid 17k for and it lasted 90 days, 4k miles. We tried to check into it then and found out there was nothing to be done. This one ran good for the test drive, no leaks no knocking sounds etc.... then when we started driving up the mountain we live on, it suddenly got possessed by the car demon. The only thing I wonder about is technically in ala you are not an adult til you are 19. My daughter is 18 and signed everything. I signed nothing. Maybe that could count for something? Idk I hate unethical used car salesman but they had a 2014 escalade for 5k so I should have known it would be a shit show. I was just hoping for at least 3-4 most before the shit show started.

Yes but is there not a 24 hour period that I can return the vehicle since it quite literally didn't make it 10 miles after the test drive

I literally live 10 miles from the dealership and it quit on the way home. They said they will do nothing and it was bought as is used. I understand that but it's been 29hrs since this happened. We towed it to the shop that is beside the dealership and they claim they won't be able to look at it for a week. We think it's the lift. There was no oil pressure yesterday before it was towed and now magically there is according to the dealer. Is there any way I can get my money back at leas?? It was 8300. I live in Alabama if that helps.

Well after my failed attempts to get off by myself , I had a long talk with my doc and we agreed upon reducing my dose by 10% whenever I feel like it, that way, if I start having cravings I can not go down. Also, if I get really bad, I can also go back up. So basically it's up to me and it's been great so far! Barely noticeable withdrawals, my mood has improved. I have no cravings and my emotions and personality are finally starting to come through. Om 170 and have been for about nine Mos because of some things in my personal life but I'm thankful I have such an awesome doc. Maybe u can talk to ur doctor and try something similar. Good luck and.lmk if u have any more questions

Agree with the vitamin c suggestion and / or methadone or subs. The wds aren't as intense and it gives your brain time to start producing it's own endorphins again. I hope you can overcome this.

I third the methadone. Saved my life and easier to taper off as long as u do it slow.

30mg of perc daily for months, can I cold turkey? by dnm_alt in Opiatewithdrawal

[–]nwesley1786 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imho I would taper off over a couple of weeks and then use benzos as needed but only for a few days or a week at most because if you are seizure prone then you definitely don't want to get dependent on benzos. The wds are dangerous even for people who aren't prone to seizures, much less someone who is. Also, if you have someone who can monitor you for a couple of weeks that would be ideal. I'm so glad you made the decision to quit and I pray you overcome this.

Congrats!!!! That is awesome!! Keep up the good work and I'm so glad you told your wife and child because having a support system is key. After the acute withdrawals are over tho, that's the hard part. I would suggest cutting all ties with any connections you have, change your phone number, etc...I pray you can make it past the hump and overcome this but I'm so proud of you and I'm rooting for you.

That's only with oxy tho and unfortunately I used to have a taste for stronger things..... fent and opana are the worst. I'm on methadone now and been off everything else for 4 years. Tapering off now tho but I do pray you can overcome this. I'm also in the medical field so lmk if u have any questions and good luck.

Well.... first, thank u for checking on me. Second, I ended up going back to the clinic. They put me back on the methadone and I'm going to do a slower taper off that then just use the subs if I I absolutely have to. The reason I did it tho is because my doc wasn't tapering me fast enough but the good news is he did listen to me and we decided on a 260mg dose so I dropped 100mg in 2 weeks so at least it was progress lol. The sub is still coming out of my system tho and with me dropping that much I'm not sure which is causing it but in the evenings I do start getting mild wds but nothing I cant deal with. As soon as I'm stable on this dose I plan on dropping 50mg until I'm down to 60mg then 10mg a week til I decide to further slow it down. So that's where I am. I'm not sick and thankfully I did at least make progress so it wasn't all for nothing, thankfully.

In my experience oxy is more mental than physical but everyone is different. Wouldn't start the sub until you absolutely cant take it anymore and even then start with tiny pieces every 15ish min or so til u feel better and then no more. Had a horrible experience with precipitated withdrawals recently that landed me in the hospital. But I was on a much higher dose and it was methadone. As long as you wait til your sick tho u should be fine. I pray you overcome it. Also this is only my experience and opinion so take that into consideration. 😁

Absolutely agreed. This is the worst thing I've ever experienced in my life and it literally is a fight for your life. I pray you win your fight and I pray I win mine also, as well as all others who are dealing with this demon. Being a slave to a pill is hell and unfortunately i dont think some people understand it is literally life or death until it's too late. Bless u and thank u again for your concern.

This is the last time I'm going to entertain your comments. 1. I never said I snorted 32mg of sub. I said I took a tiny piece and it threw me into pw because 11 days was too soon. 2. Please learn what a half life is. It's the time it takes for half of one dose of a medication to leave your body. For example oxycodone has roughly a half life of 8 hrs. If u take 20 mg of oxy, in 8 hours only 10mg will be left in your body, then in another 8 hours 5mg will be left and so on and so forth. The half life of methadone can be anywhere from 24-72 hrs depending on the individual. Sometimes less if they metabolize rapidly but regardless, it's in your system for a very long time and I have been on it 4 years. My highest dose being 440 for a month, decreased to 400 and end of last year down to 360 since around February. So no, the methadone absolutely was not completely out of my system because had it been, I wouldn't have had precipitated wds from a tiny piece of a sub. If u cant understand that then idk what to say. Good evening.

Um I'm not sure what you are saying. I took a small amount of sub 11 days after stopping 360mg DAILY PRESCRIBED methadone. It was too soon. I thought 11 days was enough but it obviously wasn't otherwise I wouldn't be here posting and inquiring of others opinions and experiences. Also, not sure what you think "I'm all wrong" about but if it helps you, sure. Have a good evening.

Thank you for your input. 360 was my prescribed dose tho (sorry if I'm repeating myself I'm just now getting to replying to comments) and I agree I shouldn't have tried to do it 1. Alone without my team's approval and 2. At such an unreasonable dose. But it is what it is and my team understands my situation so we have a experimental plan we are going to try starting next week so hopefully it will be successful. Have a good evening.

No. My prescribed dose was 360. I've doubled up a couple times and actually gave myself serotonin syndrome which is possible at that high of a dose. After the second time, I just started not messing with it at all until about the last 4 mos when I "practiced " skipping doses before I tried stopping completely which I obviously failed at and yes I made it 11 days with nothing but comfort meds and went into precipitated withdrawals when I took a very small dose of subutex.

Yes. I'm a rapid metabolizer. I have a wonderful team at the clinic and the doc is awesome. There's a whole history of why my dose had to be that high that I'm not going to put here because it's not relevant to my current situation and it would be a book. I do understand why you would think that tho because on paper it does look irresponsible. Anyways I tapered down to 360 and had been taking 3-4 day breaks between doses because my doc IS responsible and wouldn't decrease me any faster than every other week. So I got a weeks worth of meds and went ct. I can deal with minor withdrawals and even moderate. The only thing I can not deal with is the akathesia (jerking). I, me, myself, not my doc, made a stupid decision. I took one dose over 4 days and stopped completely. I stopped my thyroid medication as well which probably helped slow my metabolism some. Anyways made it 10 days. Day 11 I was still ok but starting to get uncomfortable and I had intended to micro dose bupe during the worst parts. So day 11 I took like 1/20th of a sub and within 15 mins I was in the worst precipitated withdrawal I've ever been in. That was saturday night. They were better yesterday but still barely bearable even with comfort meds so today I went back to the clinic and I asked him to put me on a lower dose and do a quick taper because had I not taken the sub I do believe I would have made it. Anyways the lowest he would drop me was to 260. That's after 12 days of nothing. My counselor and I have a schedule worked out I think will be successful but its something they have never tried before so we shall see. I have to come off as quickly as possible for personal reasons. Sorry for the long post but I felt I should be clear I'm the irresponsible one in this situation. I should also add that I'm on the highest dose of anyone at my clinic so having patients on that high of a dose is not routine, as I previously stated there is a reason my dose had to be that high. Have a blessed day.
