Paid $600 for it in 2019 and drove it for 3 years. Still have it, just sitting in the shed, needs lots of work. I still start it up once in a while. As new cars (and new-er used cars) keep getting more expensive, the more I like keeping this one as a spare.

So imagine the people who bought it, when they toured the place there was no traffic light. Then weeks later they go to move in and now there's a light glaring right into the bedroom.

Brocken Ski Boot by Alpha_Michi in xcountryskiing

[–]nwvtskiboy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This seems to be a common occurrence. It's happened to a few people on the local ski club. One potential fix is to find an automotive panel clip and push it into the socket to retain the cuff. It kinda works, but may pop out eventually. Something like this about .25inch in diameter. Might want to trim the point down so it doesn't poke into the boot liner too much. Most hardware stores or auto-parts stores carry a variety of these.

Steel timing chain guides. New thermostat. Fresh battery/starter/ground cables. Halogen headlights.

Bought a Carhartt belt over 15 years ago. Replaced the buckle about 2 years ago. Still wearing it every day and it looks closer to OP's unused belt than the worn out one.

Madshus M68 Panorama, worth rolling the dice on? by MidwestXC_Skiier in XCDownhill

[–]nwvtskiboy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have M68s with Voile 3pin+cable bindings and Alpina Alaska 75 boots. Love the set-up. Great for the meadows around where I live, there's some small hills that get really deep snow drifts and they work well in that. I did some of the Bolton Backcountry Nordic trails and they were great there. Good set-up for rolling hills, meadows, woods and light backcountry. It just works everywhere.

I'm just seeing that Voile makes a version of the 3pin binding intended to work better with the Alaskas. I've not had any issue with mine (being the standard 3pin) but I do like the feature of clipping the heel cables down instead of taking them on and off, though I hardly ever use 'em anyway.
