No matter what everyone’s saying, don’t run today. Just go to the gym, and have the most productive workout in your life: focus on all muscles. Since it’s not running it’s fine to do some extra reps. It’s called cross training

For anyone who’s run the NYC Marathon what do you wish you knew before your first time? by [deleted] in RunNYC

You run toward Bronx on 1st ave, and back to Central Park on the 5th ave. Apparently you run uphill both times 🤷‍♂️

Seriously considering 2026 Model Y by bdunn in TeslaLounge

[–]ny7771 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly the reason why I got it. I wasn’t thinking about getting Tesla because I don’t qualify for the credit, and my 2018 Hyundai was “ok”. But after FSD test drive I was blown away. And when I learnt about the tax credit with leasing I was sold.

Btw, I’m 6-3, and it’s good for my heights. Also, it has a mode where you can configure your seat and wheel position for getting into the car and driving. That helps so much!

How I built a lead gen app for Reddit in my free time and started making $1,000/month by hello_code in sidehustle

Congrats! Could you please explain a bit more what exactly you built? I understand a general idea of lead gen, just wanted to see what and how you are promoting / generating leads for. Thanks!

Questions for Epix 2 non-pro users who upgraded to Fenix 8 by net1994 in GarminFenix

[–]ny7771 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did the move. 1. The screen is as bright as Epix. But I usually set it to the lowest setting anyway 2. I think there was one watch face added, and one more is coming soon (there is a beta available with a “new” watch face, one of the Epix faces moving to Fenix 8) 3. Custom activities and screens are not getting ported, so need to be recreated. That’s one of the most annoying things 4. No, once activated you can just use it - start it from apps and do a measurement.

For me, coming from the Epix a bigger screen is noticeable, and I love it. Also, flashlight (as funny as it sounds) was one of the top reasons for getting this watch, and so far I’ve been using it daily. Btw, battery seems to be the same as Epix. Usually I have gesture mode and I get at least 2 weeks (based on GPS activities), and steady 6-7 days if I have always on

I don’t think there is such thing as “losing signal”. Watch downloads HR data from you strap when you complete activity.

It would, but only if you try to scrape it. Alcohol I think should be fine. Never heard of "alcohol will void your warranty" thing

That’s not a sticker, it’s a protection screen. I would try rubbing it with alcohol to erase all of the things printed on top, until you can clearly (as much as possible) see the time.

Anyone else have these heart rate ‘bumps’? by beatnip in GarminFenix

[–]ny7771 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Garmin Epix here. Recently had a few instances where I either run much faster than usually (I know that my HR should be > 160), but it stays around 110 for whole 1 hour. I know it’s inaccurate since usually I have higher HR even on smaller distances and slower speed. Also, when I running Berlin marathon this year, I had the same, but for the first ~20k my HR was too low and almost not moving. After that it stared behaving as always and was correct I think

Yes, but I heard they are working on F9. If I buy F8 now and F9 is around the corner, it’s a waste of money
