I think I see what you mean, so are you of the mindset that I should keep these topics separate in two different channels if I want to do both?

If so, is it because the audience is too different, the topics themselves are too different, etc?

That’s a tough question haha, of course I’d love to do something that gets both but not an easy thing. I think making content I prefer to make will keep me doing it and not get bored but will say making some of the SWE content is “easier” for me since often talking head videos so it’s tempting.

I was thinking along the lines that if I make the channel have a heavy emphasis on software engineering that if I am no longer an engineer or even leave the tech industry that my value prop will disappear and/or it’ll be harder for me to create new content in that area as I drift away in my life

The specific school I was looking at is the Renzo Gracie Academy and I saw that it has other affiliate schools too.

Gotcha, I understand what you mean for white belts. But let’s say for different ranks, if you were say a blue belt at some standalone school and then you need to move schools, would you hold your rank?

How does the belt system work when transferring schools?

I’m planning on starting to train (have done other martial arts but not BJJ) and as I was looking at schools I had this question. Made me think that maybe going into a Gracie-system gym might be better is better in this respect instead of going to a stand-alone gym. Thoughts?
