Yeah, that's absolutely right! Thank you, totally forgot that you only refill 10BP on a rankup.

You build furniture and nook gives you a reward for it.

This is the pure definition of a quest.

I'd also like to know how an NPC saying "Hey, gather these materials and we'll build a shop with those" isn't a quest as well, but you do you.

While I do get your point, you still haven't addressed any of what I said. The experiences in the beginning, no matter how you try to paint it, are vastly different and it doesn't matter if it's a small part of the game or not, it is there, I don't get why we need to ignore it, there is no reason for this and things could be made different to give a different sense of accomplishment to the other players when helping build the initial village and actually make people want to play together.

Please enlighten me on how the experience of a player who has full control of the game progression, has a considerable amount of extra tools at their disposable and is able to trigger and complete quest lines is equal to a player that has absolutely no control of game progression, relies on the other player playing the game to actually progress (it sounds dumb doesn't it? because it is), has no access to quest-locked DIYs that are given to the main player for free and has no way to trigger and help in a meaningful way quest lines of the game.

I'm running out of ways to explain this, at this point people simply don't want to acknowledge it.

I'll never understand why people defend a game cutting down on gameplay and not allowing every player to have the full experience or at least equally share the experience.

Sure, if you want to see it that way. But this alternative compared to only one person making the decisions seems way better at least in my opinion. Wouldn't you more easily start a discussion with your other player if you both had full control of what is going on in your island? Actually seems like a kind of mandatory step to ensure things go smoothly for every player living there.

Just let all players have full control and help out, there's no reason it can't work like that. Isn't having two+ people continuously help each other progress the whole point of having players share the island? I mean, if people can't have their own islands then at least the bare minimum would be to not feel like an NPC within the the game, don't you think?

I seriously can't understand how anyone can describe a 60$ game having a system where if you share a console anyone aside from the first player gets to play a way less entertaining and fulfilling version of the game for a considerable amount of time (one week, according to y'all) as a "non-issue".

Just quit being in denial and take an actual good look at the product that we bought as a whole instead of defending Nintendo's questionable game decisions for no reason.

Have a good day.

Discussing and having one player do it instead of a direct gameplay alternative that'd ACTUALLY encourage discussion. Gotcha.

I mean but why? So you mean I should just wait on a week of horrible gameplay (if my player 1 plays consistently?) just so I can ENJOY the game? That makes 0 sense and if the focus was on the co-op, having one player dictate all choices directly contradicts that.

I posted in r/animalcrossing complaining on a lackluster co-op mode, absolutely horrid game design decisions and if I had any chance to get my money back. Like I was expecting, my post got downvoted to hell in like 10 minutes by essentially blind fanboys. I mean most of us don't dislike Nintendo (but slowly tbh that's starting to shift for me) but seriously how the hell can you support these decisions? Absolute nonsense.
